Let’s discuss why Android on tablets and smartwatches failed
It seems like the only thing Android is good on is smartphones. Tablets and smartwatches are in a sad state as of late. It feels like Apple did their homework and research before releasing the iPad and Apple Watch, whereas Android manufacturers were like “Beat Apple, go” and resulted in poorly optimized and buggy software running on cheap hardware. Apple tailored app UI to take advantage of their screens whereas Android apps feel merely scaled up or shrunk down from smartphone specs. If only his...

[concept] Proper text selection tooling
This is a bit of a rant.
I don't know if it's just me, but I think text selection and cursor control on android (at least with gboard) kind of sucks. Ever tried to add new text between two "i"? I'd just delete it all and type it again at that point.
Anyway, it made me wonder, why isn't there some nicer tooling for adjusting text selections? I think it should be part of the keyboard and pop up whenever a selection is active.
I made some mocks, to show how I think it could be done, what do you ...

Question: Does expandable storage still matter to you?
What would you do if every flagship phone decided to quit supporting expandable storage? Would you be outraged and protest? Would you quit upgrading your phone? Or would you just not care and move on?

Video feed API? Will it ever happen?
Title says it.
I love android but the one thing that has always killed me was the lack of camera support in third party apps.
I understand that there are thousands of devices out there and the easiest way for devs is to use the record viewfinder method but wouldn't it be possible for Google to implement a mandatory camera API for a newer revision of Android and force companies to use the same programming language in order to lock things down and get them more streamlined?
If anything I'd think...

New Slack design is hands down the best design for mobile APP
As the noscript says.
New Slack design went live a couple of days ago and it is amazing.
It is so intuitive, well made, easy to use with one hand, it's a pure joy using that app.
Sometimes, I do not even want to use Slack on my PC due to how much I love using it on the phone.
It's a design that every other developer should follow and try to implement in their apps....

Small premium Android phones - a dying breed?
I suppose this topic has come up here and there within various subreddits and threads in the past but - why is it that small sized premium android phone models are so few and far between?
I'm sure there are more of us who would like to see/buy such models.
For me, I think the most important aspects then are full screen (utilize that small formfactor to the max) and as good battery life as is possible. Camera decent, nothing exotic necessary. What about you?
