Why are Android downgrades and roots so complicated?

My oneplus 7 pro got updated to android 11 and it became slower so I decided to downgrade. Prior this, it's been the exact same case with my Samsung phones and LG phones when it comes to difficulty.

Instead of simply downloading and flashing a file, I had to:

Intrigued, I took a look at RedMagic's website. Now I'll admit, up until now I had never heard of RedMagic, so my first thought when I saw this was "Oh great, another neat looking Android phone that won't be available in the US." Until I saw their website listing it for the US market. Okay, cool. The specs on that s...
