The new Pixel 6 renders show many elements of HTC design. I think it is probably the first phone fully designed by the HTC team acquired by Google

The radical change in Pixel design is very welcome and much needed. It seems most people feel this is shaping up to be one of the better designed phones in recent memory.

The sleek, bold design reminds me of some of the HTC phones when HTC was in it's heyday. I'm willing to bet this is the first phone designed from the ground up by the HTC team.

I know Google has said the Pixel 4/5 were from that team, but it's possible the design concepts for those were already ready and the HTC team didn't h...

S7 Smartswitch Backup/Restore using SD card

This is a post for those like me who have no data at home due to location / $$ and want to do local backup/restore of their Galaxy S7 and like me, could not find a comprehensive guide.

I have played around over the years trying combinations of Google backup and Samsung backup and Smartswitch (PC version).

I found it was hit and miss as to completeness and satisfaction of restored phone afterwards.  Though the Samsung cloud backup has I think most if not all of what Smartswitch has, it is depe...

6GB vs 8GB RAM considerations + mini tests

Recently I bought a Galaxy Tab S7+, version with 6GB of RAM,

And actually I started very much thinking if I had made a mistake not choosing the 8GB version

TLDR: 6GB gives you around 3GB of memory for your applications, which might be restrictive on tablet devices (like 5-10 tabs open in Chrome)

Generally people (as this was a sale) choose the 6GB first (I bouth the last one),

also with premium devices the price for additional RAM/storeage seems to be overblown

(but here...

Unpopular opinion: Miui looks prettier than One UI and Material u (at least in beta form)(but not consistent)

i know control center is a copycat of iOS but it's a good copy, but I'm tired of seeing western youtubers don't appreciate miui as much as they should

One UI also has ads, and miui most of ads disappear if you don't choose indian region in settings

i accept that it needs so much optimization and update policy became a mess in recent years but it terms of design, in my opinion (you might say your opinion is shit) it looks so much better than roundy one ui

only problem i have with miui design i...

Why I personally like that android phones are updated less. (not a troll post)

As updates put alot more strain on the phones cpu over time I find that my androids last longer then iPhones. My LGV20 still feels really snappy after 5 years still just like day 1 and I feel like it's because nothing has changed its workload in terms of software as it's only on android 8 atm ( can go to 9 though) and runs software that was around when it was released. ( was released on 7). I recently bought an iPhone 7 for $70 for imessage and and facetime and Snapchat pics and its on its lates...
