Main reason to upgrade seems to be less hardware and more software support these days

I got a Samsung S21 with my previous phone being the OnePlus 6, and the reason for the upgrade was it losing security updates.

It's a phone that came out 2018, so going on to be 4 years old. The upgrade seems underwhelming.
