"If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses." I often think of this when I'm on this subreddit.

Often I see Reddit point out obvious shortcomings of android phones

Samsung phones being slow on the shutter so photos of fast moving subjects like kids and cats are blurry. Not to mention bloatware.

Sony phones being overpriced

Google phones just overheating, bugs or RMA problems.

It's an endless cycle.

And these companies do improve things via software updates, then the next phone comes out and the half-baked new ideas keep it going.

So companies are seemingly aware of these problems the...

How I significantly sped up my Android phone and improved battery life: disable accessibility auto-fill, turn off Google Photos backup, and compile all my apps

(I have a Snapdragon Galaxy S22, but these tricks should apply to any phone)

Recently I noticed my phone warmed up more often, and sometimes slowed down enough to drop frames in animations or when taking a lot of pictures. This was a new thing, and so I wondered what I changed in the recent weeks that could be causing this, and started undoing those changes. US iMessage problem from the perspective of an international student

When I first came to the US, I was using a Galaxy S10 5G (Korean version), which doesn't work very well with US cell service (I'm using T-Mobile).

1. People still send SMS (or iMessage) to each other
As expected when you're in a basement or inside a big building, there'll be low/no cell reception. I never cared about no cell reception because there's wifi practically everywhere on campus, and I can receive calls and messages with Whatsapp. But with SMS, I won't receive it because somehow wifi ...

My experience of moving from Samsung Galaxy S10e to Asus Zenfone 9 - 3 weeks later

I know a lot of people here are interested in staying relatively compact, and upgrading their now ageing Galaxy S10e to an Asus Zenfone 9. Someone replied to an old comment I made a few weeks ago just after I bought it and thought I'd share my experiences having used the device for a few weeks now.

For reference, I got the black with 8gb ram and 256gb storage. I saw no decent recent to go with the 16gb ram version.

The good:

- ZP9 screen is really nice to look at compared to the S10e. Did...
