How I significantly sped up my Android phone and improved battery life: disable accessibility auto-fill, turn off Google Photos backup, and compile all my apps

(I have a Snapdragon Galaxy S22, but these tricks should apply to any phone)

Recently I noticed my phone warmed up more often, and sometimes slowed down enough to drop frames in animations or when taking a lot of pictures. This was a new thing, and so I wondered what I changed in the recent weeks that could be causing this, and started undoing those changes. US iMessage problem from the perspective of an international student

When I first came to the US, I was using a Galaxy S10 5G (Korean version), which doesn't work very well with US cell service (I'm using T-Mobile).

1. People still send SMS (or iMessage) to each other
As expected when you're in a basement or inside a big building, there'll be low/no cell reception. I never cared about no cell reception because there's wifi practically everywhere on campus, and I can receive calls and messages with Whatsapp. But with SMS, I won't receive it because somehow wifi ...

My experience of moving from Samsung Galaxy S10e to Asus Zenfone 9 - 3 weeks later

I know a lot of people here are interested in staying relatively compact, and upgrading their now ageing Galaxy S10e to an Asus Zenfone 9. Someone replied to an old comment I made a few weeks ago just after I bought it and thought I'd share my experiences having used the device for a few weeks now.

For reference, I got the black with 8gb ram and 256gb storage. I saw no decent recent to go with the 16gb ram version.
