Files by Google app is getting a new "scan" button that lets you digitize documents

Scanned documents are saved as PDF files under a new "Scanned" collection under "Documents" (the actual location is /Files by Google/Scanned).

Like the document scanner in the Drive app, this feature leverages ML Kit's new Document Scanner API to recognize and process documents on-device.

This feature is rolling out now for many users of Pixel devices. Here are some screenshots.

New Google Search UI on Android

On my Edge 20 Pro from Motorola, I get a new UI when I use the search bar in Google. My phone is on Android 13.

Surprisingly, some other phones from my family (both on Android 13 and 14) don't have this design, even though we are on the same version. For them, and previously for me, it looks like this.

Could it be related to this?

Chrome 122 Beta enables support for minimizing Chrome Custom Tabs

You'll soon be able to minimize a Chrome Custom Tab into a picture-in-picture window so you can interact with an underlying app without fully closing out your browser tab.

Google says this is enabled by default for Custom Tabs starting with Chrome 122 Beta. Here's a video of this feature in action....

OnePlus has been back for awhile.

I remember the days where OnePlus was a king android device. I've been using Pixel series for the past year or so (6a and 7a) after using a cheap OnePlus N20 bought on a whim. The N20 was a super good phone for the price. 1.5 day battery, super fast charging, decent screen and good enough performance. I got the Pixel 6a after and I struggled liking it after the N20, but I eventually enjoyed it. My father has been using the N20 and thoroughly loves it. 7a after 6a was garbage compared to 6a.
