What Is The Point Of Hole Punch Compared To Notch If It Doesn't Save Any More Space?

All the space around the hole punch will be unusable, so you don't get really any more space compared to a notch like in say the one plus 6.

I understand that it's an engineering achievement for companies like Samsung to have this, but I don't see how it does anything from a usability stand point and is just impressive like their edge panels, but not that useful?

IDK, I much rather have a notch, cause at least then it'll be symmetrical, and not as jarring as a random hole on the screen. ...

Why don't more OEMs take the "Android One" route?

Software development takes lot of money and time. More so when an OEM wants to develop software for a lot of phones. As a result we see negligible to poor software support for a lot of mid-range and entry level phones. Nokia has realized this problem and jumped the Android One bandwagon. Google takes care of the software and Nokia just has to test and fix any bugs.

Not every OEM has to do this, though. Big players, like Samsung and Huawei, can definitely afford developing software for their zil...

Why do Android application consume more RAM than iOS applications?

I did experiments using Xcode for iOS and the Running Services app for Android where I ran various apps on both an iPhone 6 and a Samsung S7 Edge. The apps were Facebook, WhatsApp, Google Chrome and Spotify. The results were that all the individual apps occupied more RAM in the Samsung compared to the iPhone.

Now, there are two directions. One of them is the amount of RAM an individual app consumes when being opened \[my experiment was in the 1st direction\].The other direction is measuring the...
