What is the purpose of turning on the screen when you charge your phone?

My biggest issue with android across multiple devices is that when i plug it in or set it on a wireless charger the screen comes on. For example if I come home from working night shift and go into my bedroom and my wife is asleep and i plug my phone in it lights up super bright in the dark room and has woken her up more than a few times.

Now.. even if i take special care to turn the screen off just before charging it the screen immediately comes back on. I dont see any purpose in this. I wo...

I used to think it was a cool idea ever since I saw it at CES in like 2014 but after actually having a phone with it, I despise it.

Here a...

Kiwi browser got removed from play store

Google as usual removed an app that became one of the best browsers in a short period of time. They apparently can't digest the idea of how much control a browser can give to the end user. The reason cited:

The developer u/arnaudx42 has appealed to the ban: [https://i.imgur.com/vZkZTZE.png](https://i.imgur.com/vZkZTZE.png)

I hope they revert back their decision.

Privacy: is Android safer than Apple, and can you stay anonymous from Google while using Android?

I've been an iPhone user for years, but as my current iPhone 6s isn't getting any younger, I'm slowly starting to evaluate other options for a new phone. Buying a new iPhone is sorta "meh" because for my basic-smartphone needs: in short, they're really expensive.

The only reason I'm hesitant to switch to an Android phone is that I don't like Google and it's fabled use of user data for monetisation. I don't feel like having Chrome knowing what I use it for, and use my usage history to sell me ...
