People who have recently upgraded, what did upgrade to and from, and what does the next phone need from you in order to justify the upgrade?

I'm upgrading from the Galaxy s8 to the OnePlus 7 Pro. I told myself I wouldn't upgrade until there was a bezeless phone with flagship specs.

Now I won't be upgrading again until I get a flat display, bezeless and under screen selfie camera with good quality. It'll be a few years before they can perfect it, I'm hoping it will be a Samsung device that pulls it off....

Are there android phones with interfaces that *feel* great?

Say what you will about iPhones, but the one thing that sold me on them is how well done the interface is. Yes, it's a phone more restrictive than your religious grandma, and yes, itunes is pure cansur, but I'm willing to tolerate all this just because every interaction with my phone brings me tactile pleasure. Every animation, every texture, every icon and button just feel great.

Blu Vivo XI+ still on Pie Beta

Blu has been promising for a while now that the Vivo XI+ and the Vivo XI would get Pie soon. The Vivo XI wasn't even in beta. The Vivo XI+ has pie beta and Blu said it's the final stage.

I asked them when the full version of pie would be available. I been told that they are working on it and should be out soon. That was a month ago. I lost hope on getting the final version of pie. There are already Blu devices on Pie but they can't seem to get it for their flagship

I have been Android all my life and have an S8+ that is starting to feel a little long in the tooth. None of the upcoming Android phones really have me too excited. I have been tempted to try an iPhone just to try something different but it seems that no real 5G phones will be out until 2020. Curious to see what Pixel 4 turns out to be....

[Solution] Birthdays from contacts don't show up in S-planer (Samsung J5)

Searched the web for ages for a solution, then found it on my own.

I don't sync with google but keep everything within my device. Also I don't want the google calendar on my device. So all advice including syncing were useless for me.
Then I exported contacts to SD-card and reimported them => to the device. This solved the problem and S-planer suddenly showed all birthdays as expected....
