This comes after a bill is expected to clear the Energy and Commerce Committee and go to the House for a vote, which allows the President to designate social media under control of US adversaries as a national security threat. The bill has bipartisan support, including from President Biden.

This is a part of the United State’s ongoing ‘cold war’ against the rising great-powers of Russia and China. As a Chinese company, TikTok isn’t subject to the same pressures of censorship that US tech companies are, such as by the ADL, making the dissenting narratives found on it an active threat to the US regime’s dominance over information.
