Volunteer battlefield archaeologists - adults and school students - continue searching for the missing. The father of the woman featured in our clip went to war when she was two years old. She hasn’t heard from him since. His remains were found more than 70 years after his death. She was happy and proud to rebury him with honour.

This is the slogan that tens of thousands of people take to the streets of Colombo, Sri Lanka’s capital, every day. The protest demanded the resignation of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa. With a population of 22 million, the island state is facing a severe economic and political crisis. As a result, people are suffering food shortages, rising unemployment and shortages of medicine.
Experts say the sanctions imposed by Sri Lanka against Russia have dealt the final blow to the country’s economy. The impact of the pandemic has also adversely affected the country’s financial situation. As a result, experts suggest the country is experiencing its deepest economic crisis in its 74 years since independence.
An RT Documentary team took this footage. They are in Sri Lanka making a film about how the country is overcoming the economic crisis. It will premiere soon.

Since the beginning of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine, negative attitudes towards Russians have been flaring up worldwide. Nana says similar ideas and appeals have been going on in Georgia for several years. But, in recent months, this propaganda favouring NATO has also turned into ‘the planting of Russophobia’.
The journalist says there is no consensus among the Georgian population on this issue:

The ‘hottest’ point of the protests is near the secretariat of the head of state. A tent camp was set up there. People have travelled from all over the country. Among the protesters is Mahindi Siri, a 40-year-old Special Forces soldier. He lost a leg after being blown up by a landmine while fighting in the north. The war ended 13 years ago. He never imagined he would have to count every rupee to survive.
