🏔Japanese man, aged 90, reaches peak of Mt. Fuji in wheelchair.

Alpinist Yuichiro Miura reached the summit of the tallest peak in Japan, having used a wheelchair for the three-day ascent. He wanted to use the climb as rehabilitation after suffering from health issues. Miura is unable to walk long distances on his own due to lingering numbness in his limbs caused by an illness, so for much of the trip he rode in his wheelchair, despite the acute feeling of pins and needles in his legs when he moves his body. The chair was dragged by a rope by his friends and family members.

This isn't Miura’s first mountaineering achievement. The alpinist became the oldest person to conquer Mount Everest at age 80 in 2013.

‘Their health, their success and the end of the conflict is what everyone is praying for,’ says Albina Gubieva, a chef in a bakery in Vladikavkaz, Republic of North Ossetia-Alania. The workers bake special national pies so that soldiers can feel the warmth of home. Fighters trust him – he has become one of their own during this time. Andrey doesn’t only film, he always does what he can to help – for example, by finding the most effective solutions for different problems.
