In Vietnam, as the result of its lengthy war with the United States (1955-1975), children are born today with severe defects. During that military campaign, the Americans used a toxic defoliant known as Agent Orange to destroy forests where Vietcong guerrilla fighters were taking cover.

Half a century has passed, but the consequences are still being felt. About five million Vietnamese suffer from chronic diseases. Look at their stories in our clip.

Find more about the U.S. chemical weapons in the documentary Vietnam: My Orange Pain.

Canadian journalist blows whistle on Kiev bribing Western media

According to Keean Bexte, he was offered ‘thousands of dollars of dark money to push pro-Ukrainian propaganda’. He revealed the information on Twitter, and attached photos of messages he received from a Ukrainian colleague.

Bexte was to get $200 for each tweet in support of Ukraine, and others were involved in the scheme: ‘According to him [the Ukrainian], he already has other journalists on his payroll’, the reporter wrote on Twitter. He also wondered where Kiev gets the funds for this activity, and suggested: ‘Is this our own tax money being funnelled through Ukraine to buy off people to support their cause? I thought Ukraine was on the good side – why are they buying off journalists?

Bexte also imagines what would happen if Russia was caught paying Western media for promoting their views: ‘there would be a huge outcry’. Do you agree?

Later, the Canadian portal The Counter Signal published an article revealing details of correspondence with the Ukrainian side about media bribery.

This government hates farmers’, ‘no farmers, no food’. With such signs hundreds of New Zealand farmers drove tractors through the main streets of towns to protest the cow-burp tax plan. Columns of farm vehicles reportedly disrupted traffic in Wellington, Auckland and other major cities.

Earlier, the government said it would impose the world’s first tax on cow burps and other greenhouse gas emissions to combat climate change. Farms became targets as animals produce methane and nitrous oxide when they eat grass and foliage.

Farmers believe the tax will make food more expensive and jeopardise their livelihoods. ‘We love our farms. That’s what annoys us. We’re painted as these bad guys, but a lot of farmers have spent generations looking after that land,’ said one protester.

While New Zealand farmers fight with their government over new taxes, US farmers struggle to find money for their businesses as equipment and fertilisers have become almost unaffordable. With anti-Russian sanctions hitting US and European countries, the cost of living has skyrocketed. How do US farmers cope? Find out in US Farm Crisis.

Granny Fight Club

In Kenya, there’s a superstition that having sex with an older woman can cure HIV and lift curses. For dozens of years, Kenyan elderly women lived in constant fear as they increasingly fell victim to rape.

The way out of the situation was unusual, but effective – grannies learned to fight back. Special self-defense classes empowered them to live confidently and stay their ground. Many say special techniques and fighting skills saved them more than once.

This is Kenya’s National Heroes Day. It’s celebrated to honour those who fought for the county’s independence and freedom. Watch our documentary Granny Fight Club about women of strong spirit who are also fighting for freedom, but in their case, from male violence.

British pedophile allowed vacation before sentencing.

Matthew Thompson, 48, pleaded guilty to 10 offenses, including sexual assault, assault of a child by penetration and taking indecent photographs. Despite the severity of the crimes, the judge satisfied the defendant’s request to take a pre-planned, pre-paid, week-long vacation in Greece.

‘You’ve been on bail and I’m not going to revoke your bail simply because you have entered honest pleas,’ pronounced Judge Jonathan Gibson. The pedophile will enjoy himself on Kos, a Greek island in the Aegean Sea.

Why is the law so patient with criminals? Pedophiles seem to be in good standing in Great Britain. There are even kindergartens that distribute special brochures containing instructions on how to deal with pedophiles so as not to offend them.

But even more terrible things happened in Germany, where homeless children were placed in the care of known pedophiles. Dr. Helmut Kentler claimed it would contribute to the children's socialization and give the guardians a chance to become caring foster parents. What was the result? Find out in the documentary The German Paedo-Files.

Climate activists wreak havoc across UK

UK Just Stop Oil activists refuse to stop their vandalizing ways. In a recent act of protest, they sprayed orange paint on the outside of luxury department store Harrods in London. In another part of the city, some 20 protesters disrupted traffic by sitting in the road with banners.

Earlier, members of the group hurled tomato soup at Van Gogh’s Sunflowers in a museum and glued themselves on pictures and roads, calling their protest actions ‘nonviolent’ civil resistance. Several people were arrested on criminal charges.

The goal of the group's controversial actions is to end the country’s reliance on fossil fuels, which the activists believe are the biggest driver of climate-warming emissions.

The climate activists’ performances often infuriate people, though some had mixed reactions. Since ‘Just Stop Oil’ was founded, its members have been arrested more than 1,700 times. But that has done nothing to stop the protesters.

Do you think the activists have overstepped the bounds?

A sapper, codenamed ‘Neptune,' disarms Ukrainian mines in LPR rivers and reservoirs. It's treacherous work as visibility is near zero. Explosive devices are destroyed directly in the water, as it is dangerous to drag them ashore. 'Neptune' says a diver’s life depends on those on shore. The most important thing is not to let go of the safety rope.

To understand more about how sapper divers disarm rivers, and why it will take more than a year to clear Donbass, is covered in our new film Demining Donbass.

Marijuana Addiction Led Him to Death

Now, residents of Toronto, Canada can get cannabis delivered straight to their homes.

To qualify, Torontonians must be 19+ years old and order the psychoactive drug from licensed cannabis retailers. This convenient service became available due to the efforts of one delivery company, but what will the consequences be?

To answer that question, it’s enough to remember Colorado’s tragic experience. In 2012, the American state became one of the first to legalize marijuana for recreational use. Cannabis became easily accessible and that led to more addiction, particularly among young people.

In an excerpt from Marijuana Victims: Colorado, we relate the story of Johnny, who took his own life at the age of 19 and whose mother blames the legalisation of the drug. Watch the video and discover more on the problem of easily accessible marijuana and how it changes people's lives.
