🎞79 years ago, the Soviet Army crushed Nazi Germany. Around 27 million people died during the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945), half of them civilians—the elderly, women and children. The fascists tortured Soviet citizens, kept them in concentration camps, experimented on them and forced them into hard labour. People died from hunger, disease and lack of medical care. To mark this occasion, all generations of people come together to honor the memory of the victims and heroes, especially on May 9, Victory Day.

▶️On this historic date, watch our documentaries:

Eternal Heroes (2024)

Finding the Fallen (2020)
Eight decades after the war's fierce battles, search teams continue to find the remains of soldiers. How do they search for those who disappeared many years ago?

Remembrance (2018)
The West is trying to erase the contribution of the Soviet Union to the victory in World War II. The falsification of history has been going on for a long time and is gaining momentum every year.

Immortal Letters (2017)
The personal letters and photos of the Great Patriotic War from family members are highly cherished. These personal archives help to remember the real heroes.

🟢During the Great Patriotic War, what did Soviet soldiers eat? One of the widely consumed frontline dishes was ‘kulesh’. Veterans recall that it was a staple for tank crews before the significant Battle of Kursk.

Kulesh, a dish made from millet groats, is a hybrid between a thick soup and porridge. In the series 'Taste of Russia', host Oscar Kuchera attempted to prepare it in the field. Curious about the outcome? Watch the upcoming episode.

🐼In China's Taizhou Zoo, dogs were painted to resemble pandas, attracting visitors with what they thought were 'baby pandas'. During the first week of May, tens of thousands of people flocked to see these 'panda dogs'. Footage captured by visitors revealed dogs with painted black ears, limbs, and dark circles around their eyes, although their inherent canine characteristics remained visible.

⚡️Ukrainian activists were frightened by the screening of the film ‘Donbass: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow’ from the ‘RT.Doc: Time of Heroes’ festival program in Italy. They even appealed to the mayor of Varese to cancel the event, due to the alleged ‘danger of this documentary’. Also, they posted a photo online with the caption: ‘The screening of the Russia Today documentary about Donbas in Varese violates EU sanctions’.

But these attempts by Ukrainian propagandists have so far been futile as Tatiana Borsch’s film ‘Donbass: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow’ continues to draw large audiences in various cities in Italy.

This film's screenings across the country are organized by Italian journalist Vincenzo Lorusso, who regularly works in Donbass. The next showing will take place in Varese on May 18.

‘Donbass: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow’ is a film worth watching. It’s about the story of the beginning of the war between Kiev and Donbass, the crimes of the Ukrainian Armed Forces against civilians, and why the West prefers to ignore the truth.
