Brief Thursday News ⚡️

The Spanish government will spend 200 million euros to fight child poverty. The money will be distributed throughout the country and used to support families, local social services and improve access to healthcare. €15 million will be spent on the School Vacation Program (VECA), which provides summer camps and cultural activities for vulnerable children, and ensures healthy and balanced meals during the holidays.

Due to the heat and dryness, the fire continues to destroy forests, and fires started yesterday in the north. About 1,400 residents do not leave their homes, 4,700 hectares of forest have been destroyed, and at least 8 villages have been affected. The work of firefighters is complicated by strong winds and lack of rain.

This year, Spain expects a record tourist flow. According to authorities, the flow of travel-starved travelers into the country will break records of previous years, exceeding even pre-pandemic figures. In summer, prices can rise by 20%, and hotels will be 90% full.

Hey, here's Friday's news ⚡️

The first and third lines of the subway have been updated with new trains, and they will replace the entire old fleet in the coming months. Don't miss the chance to catch metro trains at their best!

The Spanish startup Troop, which develops solutions to optimize the planning of corporate meetings and events, was awarded 10 million euros. Tropp helps companies save on meeting costs, travel time and planning. The company plans to use the money to expand the platform and launch a new product.

Inditex is changing the company's image to attract more target-oriented customers. The company is raising prices, putting more money into flagship stores and closing smaller ones. And reinforcing the stance that «Zara sells fashion, not just clothes», has allowed the company to be profitable in an inflationary storm as well.

Infoempleo. Free registration and resume download. There's also a section on courses and training centers if you need to brush up on your knowledge first, and a blog with helpful articles.

LinkedIn. I think you've at least heard of it. If you've never used it, now is the time.

Indeed. The world's #1 hiring and job search site in the world.

Monster. There are popular search areas (civil service, IT, construction or design jobs) and in-demand jobs. There are helpful tips for candidates and a salary calculator.

Adecco are experts in HR. People are helped here to find jobs, and companies are helped to improve competitiveness through talent. It is definitely the right place to look for jobs in the hospitality, audiovisual, logistics, automotive and transportation industries.

Milanuncios is a Spanish website used for online classified advertisements, but also jobs.

Noticiastrabajo is like a news publication. It is true that they write about labor rights and economics, but they also publish vacancies, just in a news format. They write about corporate hiring and unusual jobs (right now, for example, they are looking for a nanny for two cats for 65,000 euros a year. One of the best things about this site is that it lists exact salaries, hours, and how to send your resume.

Two important news about life in Spain for the coming April 📅

New rules about sick days.

Today we have a festival announcement. Spain! 🇪🇸

The Seville April Fair will be held at Los Remedios in Seville from April 23-29. It usually begins two weeks after Holy Week or Easter week. It is dedicated to Andalusian culture, and usually the entire week of the fair is spent dancing, drinking, eating and socializing. And what about the holiday parades!

From April 22 to 24, there will be Moros y Cristianos (literally, it translates to «Moors and Christians»), a set of festival events that are celebrated in many cities in Spain, mostly in the southern Valencian community. The celebration takes the form of a bright, noisy and colorful parade with dancing, horses and battle reenactments

Do you ever get the urge to drop everything and run away to the countryside? Don't do it for free, we have some great offers ⚡️

Provinces all over Spain offer various perks to those who are willing to move to them. Some give land, some help with housing and taxes. Here are a few examples:

In Asturias, residents are given a 1000€ tax credit for rent, home purchases and repairs, rural self-employment and daycare costs.

In Castile-La Mancha they give a 15% discount on the purchase or repair of housing, and tax deductions on personal income tax of up to 25%.

In Catalonia, in the city of Lerida, the city council gives a 95% discount on building permits for people under the age of 35. And in Camaras, which is part of the province of Lerida, 11 public lands are for sale at half price for young families.

In Madrigalejo, which is part of the province of Cáceres, when a child is born or adopted, they pay 3,000€, and in Iguera de la Sierra they cover the cost of education, care and things for the child.

- In El Toro, in the province of Castellón, they give 100€ a month for each child under the age of 12 and free housing for a year to help moving families get settled.

In Murcia, young people can get up to 10,800€ to buy a house in a municipality with less than 10,000 inhabitants.

In one of the provinces of the Basque Country, in Alava, they give a deduction of 1,000€ for entrepreneurship, and a woman entrepreneur will get 1,500€.

👀 Would you be able to trade the city for a quiet province?

In the photo, you and I are enjoying our freedom from the city and our closeness to nature.

Hello, Monday News 💪

Spain is the third EU country in which most households are behind on their rent or mortgage payments. Rising home prices without an increase in income have caused many to have tremendous difficulty paying. This financial overload has affected 4 out of 10 families with children.

Users named Spanish bank CaixaBank the worst company of 2022. Vodafone and energy company Endesa were also ranked as the best of the worst. The bank was nominated for the first time, and the company receiving the award most often was Movistar.

A little rain and wind helped bring the wildfires under control.

One way to save on travel in Spain

The Spanish government continues to give away free rail tickets. The program was supposed to end in the spring, but it has been extended until August 31!

You can get a free ticket at the ticket offices in the stations, in the machines, in the Renfe Cercanías app or online. You will need to leave a deposit of 10€ for short distance tickets and 20€ for long distance tickets. The deposit will be refunded if the pass is used for 16 or more trips. Isn't that extra motivation to explore the cities around you? The offer does not apply to fast trains.

Where do we go first?

Hola! 😏

Big Brother on vacation: 4 beaches in Marbella will have cameras that will analyze water quality, UV radiation and beach occupancy, and the information collected will be available to everyone in an app. It will be possible to find out the exact weather and solar radiation index, Marbella will be the first city with such a beach innovation.

Flights prices this year will increase by about 5.5%. For example, a flight UK > Spain will cost 18€, according to travel experts. The reasons: high fuel costs and stricter regulations on carbon emissions.

Forest fires in Murcia will now be monitored by plane. It does this every year, but because of the drought and unseasonably warm weather, it will have to go on duty earlier than usual, on April 16. Four separate fires broke out in 2 days in the region.
