⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦⚔️ Situation in the #Soledar Direction at 15:00 on 11 Oct 2022⚡️

▪️ The #Soledar OTG command expects an active offensive by Russian troops on the #Kodema - #Kurdyumovka and #Klinovoye -Krasnaya Gora lines to further blockade #Bakhmut (#Artemovsk) from the north-east and south.

▪️ Government offices are evacuated from #Bakhmut itself to Chasov Yar. Signatures are being collected in some units of the AFU on the issue of distrust of the grouping's command.

▪️ Wagner PMC Fighters have reached the southeastern outskirts of #Bakhmut and established control of #Ivangrad in the course of fighting. Ukrainian formations suffered losses and withdrew to the #Klescheevka area.

▪️ Forty-three military personnel and one reserve platoon were also transferred to the #Klescheevka area to reinforce defences and restore positions. Wounded are being evacuated from #Ivanovskoye (#Krasnoye) with the help of armoured combat vehicles.

▪️ Wagner PMC units eliminated an AFU stronghold west of #Nikolaevka, which had interfered with control over a section of the Nikolaevka II - #Otradovka highway. In addition, a stronghold of Ukrainian units northwest of #Zaitsevo, which was liberated late last week, was taken.

▪️ AFU artillery and Mi-8 helicopters fire on #Ivangrad and Veselya Dolina to contain the advance.

▪️ In the #Spornoye area, units of the Wagner PMC captured an AFU stronghold on both sides of the #Verkhnekamenka - #Berestovoye road. The Russian forces managed to approach the site of the gas compressor station, where there were also permanent fire positions and equipped positions of the Ukrainian units. Further advance towards #Spornoye is hindered by a difficult mine situation.

Analysis of the Ukrainian Regrouping on the Kremennaya Front

If we assume that the Ukrainian army has removed its troops from the Kremennya zone not to another part of the front, but to another direction, then we can consider two versions of where exactly they could go and with what purpose they would do it.

"The Nazis are urgently regrouping their forces in the direction of Svatovo, it looks like there will be an attempt to attack," reports the 105th regiment of the DPR People's Militia. Starshe Eddy (@VysokyGovorit) claims the same thing. Perhaps they are both wrong, but we have here an attempt to undertake analysis without clear intelligence data.

So, there are the two versions of a possible AFU offensive, given their retreat from the Zherebets river line:

1) A flank attack bypassing the Tavolzhansky stronghold in order to reach Troitskoye to be able to establish control over the former state border area north of Svatovo. With further prospects of a turn to the south. If successful, this strike would significantly reduce the role of Svatovo and cut through some of our supply lines.

2) In the Pervomayskoye-Raygorodok section, with a possible supporting strike in the Raigorodok-Makeevka area, to knock out the Kotlyarovsky stronghold and saddle the Kupyansk-Svatovo route with access to the Krasnaya river its tributaries north of Svatovo in order to attempt traversing them. If this turns out to be successful, then mobile units may be sent into the breach zone. The consequences of this are difficult to predict.

All of these, however, are only promising areas, which the Ukrainian armed forces have been pounding on with varying degrees of success recently. At this moment, there is no evidence that any reserves capable of breaching our defenses have been deployed here (which does not guarantee the absence of such a deployment). On the contrary, there is ample evidence of our forces being deployed here.

Ukrainian analysts, in fact, publicly estimate our forces deployed in the area, including in the Belgorod Oblast, at 25K + 3K in reserve. There is no reason to believe them, but these are the numbers they are voicing publicly.

Rumours of Ukrainian Evacuation from Artemovsk

According to Artemovsk local channels, emergency services and police have initiated an evacuation there. This is interpreted by a number of channels (started by @Legitimniy, with the Russian channels amplifying this further) as a preparation to "surrender Artemovsk".

Generally, in addition to the advance near Artemovsk, which is now in the spotlight, far more dramatic events are taking place to the south. The southern group of the Russian Army, apart from the blockade of Artemovsk from the south (after Odradovka, Zaitsevo, Veselya Dolina, and the Asphalt Plant, they appear to have entered Opytnoye, Ivangrad, and the Hydro Dam area), continues to advance westwards in the Maiorsk - Ozaryanovka - Kurdymovka - Zelenopolye - Klescheevka area. Ukrainian press actually spoke today about the Russian Army advancing close to Ozaryanovka, though this fact has yet to be confirmed by the Russian press.

Further advance to the west not only puts the entire Artemovsk garrison at risk of encirclement (which is still a long way off), but also begins to threaten the encirclement of Dzerzhinsk from the north. This, in turn, will seriously worsen the strategic position of the AFU in Donbass.

Accordingly, the AFU may or may not cling to Artemovsk. But any reserves, if they are sent here, will go first between Artemovsk and Gorlovka. Because there, after a long time and a lot of spent resources, our troops have gone only halfway through enemy fire.

Analysis of the Current Operational Importance of Artemovsk

Simply speaking, we needed to take Artemovsk as much as a caveman needs to keep the fire alive, but only for as long as we had Izyum. Izyum provided a blockade of Slavyansk from the north-west and west (we did not take Barvenkovo, road traffic was going there, though the railway did not work—it does now).

Now, all that said, Artemovsk is still a strategic point. Taking control of Artemovsk will give us a lot of terrain won back in our favour, blockading the Slavyansk garrison once again (the Ukrainian army in Slavyansk has been actively engaged in fighting in the Liman area because of operational freedom as a result of the loss of Izyum), this time from the east.

But now the liberation of Artemovsk does not mark the final push for Slavyansk. Now the liberation of Artemivsk will only mark new battles in the area of Chasov Yar, along the route to Slavyansk, and in the area of Soledar.

But to the south, between Artemovsk and Gorlovka, we will sooner or later blockade Dzerzhinsk (Toretsk) from the north and cut the Dzerzhinsk-Konstantinovka highway.

The consequences of this step depend on the measures taken by the Ukrainian command and the resources available to us. In the best-case scenario, the Ukrainian grouping in Avdeevka will suffer an operational crisis.

This, however, is not a matter of one day or even one week. Nonetheless, the trend is clear.

#YURI Russians counterattack near Liman, pushing back the enemy away from Kremennaya to Terny-Torskoye line. If they manage to hold these strategic settlements, the third battle for Liman, with roles reversed, may happen. Wagner men enter south-eastern parts of Bakhmut. Attacks near Donetsk towards Pervomayskoye continue to reach the third line of defence of Avdeyevka and threaten its supply routes. No active actions of the enemy in Zaporozhye or Kherson, but a large-scale enemy offensive is possible in the comming days.

Missile stike on Ukraines power grid continue with the same intensity as yesterday. The countdown to a complete energetic collapse is estimated by the Ukrainian side as 7-10 days (if the strikes continue). Yuri considers that it may happen in much faster, subject to the same condition.

The Virtues of Digesting Strategic SMO Updates With Grains of Salt

Russian troops are reported to have rushed to take up positions at the Zherebets River line west of Kremennaya. Preliminary information suggests that Novosadovoye, Terny and Torskoye have been liberated, and fighting continues near Yampolovka and Kreminna Forest.

To understand the processes in the Svatovo-Kremennaya direction, let's recall the prehistory of the current fighting - namely the Kharkov region tragedy of September 6-10. Let's run through my notes:

On September 7, everyone writes about the prospect of the Izyum cauldron because of the cutting off of the road to Izyum from the north. However, they are wrong: "In the most catastrophic scenario Izyum grouping will not be surrounded, they have an opportunity to manoeuvre to the left bank of Oskol (that's where Sviatogorsk is located)." The regrouping is still a few days away, but it happened exactly as I said.

Also on September 7, a member of the OPSB gives information that all is not well on the left bank of Oskol. In particular, the 35th Army had taken with them the pontoon across the Seversky Donets during the regrouping and the adjoining forces didn't have theirs. Bad suspicions began to creep in.

On September 8, the situation worsens. Rybar gives information about the concentration of the AFU in the Izyum direction. "It also appears that an attack on the Krasny Liman district of the DPR is being prepared. The enemy has moved DRGs [Diversionary-Reconnaissance Groups] south of Krasny Liman and Yampol, as well as pontoon-engineering units to Raigorodok."

September 9: "A deeper breakthrough on the left bank of the Oskol, is impossible without a supporting strike from Slavyansk and Seversk to Izyum and Krasny Liman respectively." While Bezsonov will be claiming that the strike force that attempted to break into Liman from Seversk was defeated on September 7, the Khokhols will be finalising preparations to traverse the Seversky Donets river near Krasny Liman and Sviatogorsk. This will take place on the 10th.

The night of September 10: "A new problem has emerged in the form of an attempt to force the Seversky Donets in the direction of the DPR's Krasnolimansky district. As the evening haggle said, they can do this only tonight." That is exactly what will happen.

At that time, all sorts of military co-rat-spondents will be feeding you information about the reserves arriving and entering the battle.

The evening of 10 September: "The mobilised units holding Red Liman as of 16.30 this afternoon are literal heroes." This is due in part to the fact that our media had managed to surrender Krasny Liman. The media was wrong.

So, let us summarize: starting from September 7, i.e. the second day of the Ukrainian offensive, the strategic importance of Oskol for the Izyum grouping was obvious. And, consequently, the threat to the Krasny Liman district.

This was written about repeatedly until the moment when the 16th BARS battalion engaged in unequal combat with the superior enemy forces, giving time for our army to prepare the lines for defence.

The end of the first part, in the second we will see when Svatovo was first mentioned and how the fighting in the Krasnolimansk district was treated.

Fake news:
The Russian military killed civilians in Kupyansk and dumped their bodies in mass graves. The horrifying video was posted by Maksim Zhorin, a member of the Azov Nazi Batallion, and was shared by numerous Ukrainian Telegram channels.

The fact:
In Kupiansk, they are trying to use the same methods that were once used in Bucha. European viewers are shown the bodies of murdered civilians being dumped into a pit like sacks. At the same time, they do not show who exactly killed or buried these people.

Meanwhile, it is very likely that it was the Ukrainian military who killed them. Several factors indicate this.

The EXIF data of the video posted by Zhorin indicates that it was shot on October 9 at around 1pm.

Kupiansk has been under the control of the AFU for a little less than a month - Ukrainian forces entered the town in the tenth of September and finally seized it around the 20th. Judging by the numerous photos and videos taken by Ukrainian propagandists, there were no fallen leaves on the grass yet. On the video of the mass grave, however, there are a lot of such leaves: this is quite typical for the beginning of October.

There is no information about these murdered people in the local chats in Kupiansk. At the same time, there is a telegram channel "Kup'yansk Novyny Zradniki ta Kollaboranty" which collects data on residents of the seized settlements who have pro-Russian views. These people are threatened with death - regardless of their gender, age or degree of sympathy for Russia.

Obviously, the photo shows a mass grave into which the bodies of those who collaborated with the Russian military are dumped. The Ukrainian journalist Anatoliy Shariy, for example, is of the same opinion.

Fake news:
Russian troops shelled civilian objects - one of the strikes hit Shevchenko Park in Kyiv near a playground. This was reported by Ukrainian sources.

The fact:
The large-scale high-precision missile strike was carried out exclusively against military targets and energy facilities. The strike on the park was the result of the malfunctioning of the Ukrainian air defense system, which, in fact, damaged civilian objects in Kyiv. A Ukrainian S-300 air defense/antimissile rocket landed near the playground.

We have analyzed in detail what kind of damage the air defense system has brought to Ukrainian cities. The poor performance of the systems has already been criticized by journalists, who suspected Valery Zaluzhny, the head of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, of exaggerating the effectiveness of Ukrainian air defense systems.

⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦💡 Russian Armed Forces strikes on Ukraine's Energy system on 10-11 October 2022 - @Rybar Analysis⚡️

Following massive missile strikes by the Russian Armed Forces against Ukraine's energy infrastructure on 10 and 11 October, it is only now that a relatively complete picture of the results of the firing and the extent of damage to certain targets is emerging.

Rybar's team analyzed open-source data, eyewitness reports from the field, NASA's FIRMS fire-fighting map, and information from classified sources. In some cases, the effects of a fire are not so clear and data are lacking. In such cases, the item is marked as 'Requires clarification'.

🔻 Objects hit on 10 October:
1.1. Kiev TPP-5;
1.2. Kiev TPP-6 (presumably a miss);
1.3. Pryvokzalna 110 kV substation (former open switchgear of TETs-3);
1.4. Darnitsa TPP;
2. Tripolskaya TPP.
3. Zhitomir 330/110 kV substation;
4. Khmelnitskaya 330/110 kV substation;
5. Ternopil 330/110 kV substation;
6.1 TS Lvivskaya TETs-1
6.2 Substation Lviv-South 330/220/110 kV;
6.3 Substation Lviv-2 220/110/6kV;
7. Substation 110/35/10kV Zdolbunov TSHK (presumably, clarification needed);
8. Zapadno-Ukrainskaya 750/330kV substation (needs clarification);
9. Burshtynskaya TPP;
10. Krivoy Rog TPP;
11. Prydniprovska TES;
12. Kremenchug 330/154/35/10 kV substation;
13. Substation Konotop 330/110 kV;
14.1 Substation Zalyutino 330/110/35 kV;
14.2 Kharkov CHPP-5;
14.3 Zmievskaya TPP.

🔻 The facilities affected on 11 October:
1. Ladyzhinskaya TPP;
2. 330 kV Lvov-Yuzhnaya substation;
3. Substation 154kV Lviv -2;
4. 330kV Lvov Westerly substation (presumably, needs clarification);
5. Substation Zapadno-Ukrainskaya 750/330kV (needs clarification);
6. Substation Prydniprovskaya 750 kV;
7. Kiev TPP-6 area (presumably a miss);
8. Kiev HPP Vyshgorod;
9. PS "VDGMK" 330/150/35/6 kV Volnogorsk;
10. Pavlogradskaya 330/150/35/6kV substation (needs clarification);
11. Substation Pravoberezhnaya 330kV Zaporozhye (requires clarification).

🔻 Based on the available information, we believe that the most effective strikes were in Lvov, Kharkov, Khmelnytsky and Sumy regions.

▪️ Despite this, power supply has now been restored almost everywhere, but the transmission capacity of the power system has been reduced as a result of the strikes.

▪️ Transformers and autotransformers at 330/110 and 330/150 kV are most likely to have been hit. Substations and thermal power plants managed to reduce both generation and transmission capacity of the power system.

▪️ An indirect indication of the effectiveness of the strikes can be found in the fact that Ukraine has refused to export electricity to the EU and Moldova.

▪️ Emergency schemes are used to bypass damaged parts of the electrical system. The effect of their use creates the illusion of solving problems, but in fact it only postpones them.

🔻 However, it is clear that the damage to the Ukrainian energy system is not enough to fragment it into separate power districts. The stability of the energy system is maintained through forced rolling blackouts of consumers - especially during morning and evening peak hours.
