🔎 The Rybar Team continues a systematic analysis of the consequences of fire strikes on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. The extreme (hopefully not the last) strike was carried out by the Russian Armed Forces on Saturday 22 October.
💥 The following facilities were hit by fire that day:
▪️ Target #1 - cutting off the Rivne NPP from the 330kV power grid
➖ Rivne 330 substation, 330/110/35/10 kV
➖ Substation Lutsk-Severnaya, voltage 330/220/110/10/6 kV
➖ Substation Kovel 330, voltage 330/220/110/35 kV
➖ TS Khmelnitskaya 330, voltage 330/110/10 kV
➖ Substation Shepetovka 330, voltage 330/110/35kV - at least 330/110kV autotransformer was affected.
▪️ Target #2 - impact on the Odessa power district and create an electricity deficit in the Odessa area.

🩸 Interim Conclusions:
After the large-scale strikes against Ukrainian power plants on Saturday, electricity supply was restored everywhere by Wednesday, albeit with rather severe restrictions.
▪️ The main strikes took place in the centre and west of the country, where the restrictions on electricity consumption were the greatest.
▪️ In Kharkov, for example, the underground escalators could be put into operation because the deficit caused by the shocks was not so large.
▪️ However, it would be fundamentally wrong to claim that the strikes have passed without a trace and that their consequences have been completely overcome.
It is now clear that the shocks once again targeted autotransformers with 330 kV high voltage. Such shocks do not completely cripple the substations themselves, but they do cause considerable difficulties in supplying power to the areas near the substations.
▪️ The transfer of power to the remaining autotransformers leads to their overload during peak loads and emergencies. This leads to the triggering of automatic emergency power systems and repeated disconnections of consumers.
This may explain the numerous complaints from consumers that rolling blackout plans are not being adhered to and there is no power even though it should be there according to the plan.
▪️ To be fair, the Ukrainian energy sector is doing everything in its power to stabilise the situation, and the rolling blackouts are designed to even out consumption peaks in the morning and evening. But it is already clear that this is clearly not enough.
🚨 We are under no illusion that the Ukrainian people and the Ukrainian authorities will appreciate the humanism of the Russian authorities in choosing targets for the attacks. We are and remain enemies for them.
Therefore, the attacks, if they take place, must be carried out with maximum efficiency, taking out not the power conversion plants but the substations (SCPs).
Only by attacking them can a substation be completely knocked out without destroying the high-voltage equipment.
Otherwise, the effect, as we are doing now, would take too long.

#Kupyansk Sector:
Units of the 14th AFU Mechanized Brigade tried to storm #Nikolaevka and #Orlyanka with the artillery support.
▪️ During the fighting, Russian troops pushed the 14th Brigade forces off the line with massive fire from MLRS. The enemy lost more than a dozen men, one tank, six armoured fighting vehicles and three pickup trucks.
Formations of the 14th Brigade consolidated a few kilometres west of #Orlyanka and are preparing for advance further.
#Svatovo Sector
The command of the 71st AFU Jager Brigade moved one of its units across #Zherebets. After the regrouping by the forces of one BTGr, an attack was launched in the direction of #Chervonopopovka.
▪️ The Russian soldiers repulsed the assault and forced the units of the 71st Brigade to retreat to their initial positions, destroying several tanks and armoured fighting vehicles.
▪️ An AFU manoeuvre Signals Intelligence Team arrived in the vicinity west of #Raygorodka to conduct electronic reconnaissance.
#Lyman Sector:
▪️ Combined assault groups of the 2nd Battalion of the 66th Mechanized Brigade and two companies of the 25th Airborne Brigade of the AFU attempted to storm the Russian positions east of #Torskoye. The attack was repulsed.
▪️ After the failure of the assault, the command of the AFU Lyman Operation Task Group intends to conduct a simultaneous offensive from two directions. The 2nd Battalion of the 25th Airborne Brigade from the area 4 km northeast of #Terny and two companies of the 95th Airborne Brigade from area 6.5 km east of #Nevskoye.
▪️ In parallel, the AFU wants to activate the 119th and 131st Battalion Assault Groups of the 111th Territorial Defence Brigade from the height 156.7, and the 15th Regiment of the Ukrainian National Guard from the area 11 km east of #Torskoye to approach #Kremennaya from the south.
#Lysychansk Sector:

The AFU has moved a company of the 3rd Battalion of the 46th Aeromobile Brigade to a stronghold 4km southeast of Davydov Brod.
▪️ Over the past 24 hours, 32 pieces of military equipment were transferred to the left bank of the #Ingulets River via the crossings in #Ternovka and Bolshoe Artakovo, 27 pieces in the opposite direction.
#Berislav Area:
A meeting of tactical commanders was held at the command and observation post of the 96th Battalion of the 60th AFU Infantry Brigade in #Novonikolaevka to discuss plans for further operations.
▪️ UAV reconnaissance teams of the 97th Battalion of the 60th Separate Infantry Brigade conduct reconnaissance of Russian positions on the #Pyatikhatka - #Polyanka line.
▪️ A platoon of the AFU Territorial Defence has been moved to reinforce the positions of the 9th Composite Battalion in #Chervonoye and #Novoaleksandrovka. And three companies of the 129th Territorial Defence Brigade arrived in Zolotaya Balka.

▪️ In the locality of #Derevnaya, one of the pro-Ukrainian citizens uses a satellite phone to report on the movements of Russian and Belarusian troops.
#Volyn Sector:
▪️ The AFU command moved two battalions to the Volyn Joint Force Grouping.
▪️ AFU personnel trained at the 184th training centre in #Starichi, including one battalion from the newly formed 67th Mechanized Brigade, will arrive in the #Volyn region to reinforce the areas bordering #Belarus.

#Kiev Region:
▪️ Russian Forces continued strikes on Ukraine's energy infrastructure overnight. During the night raid, kamikaze drones hit autotransformers at the Kievskaya 750/330/35 kV substation.
The Belotserkovskaya 330/110/10 kV substation was also presumably one of the targets.
#Belarus Direction (MAP):
The Ukrainian command is expecting a possible offensive by the Russian Forces from the side of #Belarus.
▪️ In the village of #Derevnaya, #Minsk region, a citizen of the Republic of #Belarus passes data on the movement of Russian and Belarusian military personnel to Ukraine.
▪️ The #Volyn section on the Ukrainian side is reinforced by several battalions trained at the 184th Training Centre in #Starichi. A company control post of the AFU's 1st Radio Technical Brigade has been established near #Lukov.
▪️ In the #Kiev sector, several reconnaissance groups are active in the Rudnya-Ilyinetskaya area and near Kriva Gora.
▪️ In the #Chernigov sector, several Territorial Defensede Battalions have been deployed near of #Bleshnya and #Mkhi. Reconnaissance units led by British mercenaries are being trained at the #Desna training ground.
#Starobelsk Direction (MAP):
▪️ In the #Kupyansk section, the 14th AFU Mechanized Brigade attempted to storm #Nikolaevka and #Orlyanka, came under massive fire from Russian MLRS, suffered losses of personnel and equipment, and then withdrew.
▪️ In the #Svatovo sector, 1 BTGr of the 71st Jager Brigade attempted an offensive towards #Chernopopovka, but retreated to their initial positions after losing several tanks and combat vehicles.
▪️ In the #Lyman sector, the AFU tried to storm the Russian positions near #Torskoye, but did not succeed.
The enemy command plans to conduct a simultaneous offensive from the northeastern outskirts of #Terny and east of #Nevskoye. At the same time, Ukrainian forces shall reach the southern outskirts of #Kremennaya.
▪️ In the #Lysychansk sector, the AFU tried to gain a foothold near #Belogorovka. The attack was repulsed and the enemy retreated to #Grigorovka.
#Soledar Direction:
▪️ In this front section, the situation is unchanged. Positional fighting continues in the outskirts of #Bakhmut (#Artemovsk), #Soledar and #Opytnoye.
#Donetsk Direction:
▪️ Ukrainian militants have once again shelled settlements in the #Donetsk agglomeration, including #Donetsk, #Makeevka, #Yasinovataya and Kashtanovka. In addition, a fuel depot in #Shakhtyorsk was hit again.
#Zaporozhye Direction:

🔎 Rybar's team continues its daily analysis of the consequences of systemic fire attacks on Ukraine's energy system.
💥 In 24 hours, our team has recorded two strikes:
▪️ Kievskaya 750kV substation - autotransformer hit confirmed
▪️ Belotserkovskaya 330kV substation - probable damage
🩸 Today's strike on the Kievskaya 750 substation has had a far greater impact in terms of efficiency than all previous strikes on the Kiev power grid combined.
➖ At least one single-phase 750/330kV autotransformer was destroyed. The shields separating the single-phase autotransformers from each other may have protected the other transformers from damage, but the destruction of at least one of the three renders the remaining two useless.
➖ The capacity of one autotransformer is 333 MVA: The RF Armed Forces have deprived the Kiev power district of the technical possibility of receiving 1000 MVA of capacity from the Rivne and Khmelnitsky nuclear power plants. And that is a lot.
Yes, we understand that the transformer may not have been used at 100%, but we assume that the second three single-phase transformers were damaged as a result of previous strikes (unfortunately, objective control facts are lacking).
▪️ This is a very serious blow to the Ukrainian power system. And the consequences were not slow to hit Kiev: a wave of unscheduled power cuts swept across the capital and the region.
Despite #Kiev's own sources of generation - CHP-5, CHP-6 (which also suffered from the strike and lost half of its generating capacity), and the Kiev HPP, as well as the Tripolskaya TPP in the immediate vicinity of the capital - their energy is clearly insufficient for normal operation of the energy system.
🚨 This leads to the conclusion that isolating the nuclear plants from the rest of the grid and consumers is currently the most effective scenario for influencing the Ukrainian energy system.

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the special military operation.
💥 In Kupyansk direction, up to 1 enemy reinforced battalion attacked the positions of the Russian troops towards Berestovoye (Kharkov region).
◽️ All the attacks have been repelled.
◽️ Over 150 Ukrainian personnel, 1 tank, 5 infantry fighting vehicles, 4 armoured personnel carriers and 9 pickups have been eliminated.
💥 In Krasny Liman direction, 2 battalion tactical groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) were conducting an offensive towards Chervonopopovka (Lugansk People's Republic).
◽️ Intense action of the Russian troops has resulted in halting the enemy.
◽️ Artillery and Army Aviation have eliminated over 50 Ukrainian personnel, 2 tanks, 3 armoured fighting vehicles and 2 motor vehicles.
💥 In South Donetsk direction, a company tactical group of the AFU attacked the positions of the Russian troops near Vremevka (Donetsk People's Republic).

💥 Air defence facilities have shot down 1 Mi-8 helicopter of Ukrainian Air Force near Novaya Kamenka (Kherson region).

◽️5 AFU ammunition depots have been destroyed near Vesyoloye (Donetsk People's Republic), Davydov Brod, Novaya Kamenka (Kherson region), and Nikolayev.
💥 Air defence facilities have shot down 1 Mi-8 helicopter of Ukrainian Air Force near Novaya Kamenka (Kherson region).
◽️ 3 unmanned aerial vehicles have been intercepted near Nikolskoye and Berislav (Kherson region).
◽️ Moreover, 6 projectiles launched by HIMARS and Uragan MLRS have been shot down near Novaya Kakhovka, Tokarevka (Kherson region), and Pokrovskoye (Donetsk People's Republic).
