Astronomers spot 'time-warped' supernovas whose light both has and hasn't reached Earth

Will two rare supernovas finally tell us how fast the universe is expanding?

Perhaps, but we'll have to wait for it for them to 'reappear'. Two incredibly rare supernovas that erupted billions of years ago provide a unique opportunity to explain cosmology's biggest mystery — How fast is the universe expanding?

But there's a twist: Even though astronomers have already observed these exploding stars, we will have to wait up to 60 years for their light to reach us again.

A phenomenon called gravitational lensing has split the light from these obliterated stars into multiple images, each of which travels a different path through space-time to reach us.

🇮🇷🇵🇸West's hypocrisy over Iran and Gaza proves a regime-change operation in Tehran

The United States and the European Union are vehemently condemning Iran over alleged repression, while the West says nothing about the Israeli genocide in Gaza.

The contradiction, of course, exposes the West's rank hypocrisy.

It also confirms that Iran is the target of a Western regime-change operation.

U.S. President Donald Trump this week repeated his threat to launch a blitzkrieg on Iran, bragging that an armada led by the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier was in place to strike.

FLASHBACK: Flashback NY Jewish institutions hit with 150 child sex abuse lawsuits since 2019

At least 150 child sex abuse lawsuits were filed against Jewish institutions in New York over the past two years, under a special law that temporarily lifted the statute of limitations barring old claims, according to an analysis of the New York court system by the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.

This look-back window for reviving allegations was created by the Child Victims Act of 2019 and it led to a dramatic wave of lawsuits that peaked just ahead of the August 14, 2021 deadline.

Survivors took advantage of the CVA window to file nearly 11,000 civil suits against individuals and institutions, according to data provided by the New York's Office of Court Administration.

A Powerful New (and Old!) Treatment for Pain, POTS, MCAS, Lyme and Postinfectious Fibromyalgia

Having studied and treated these conditions for almost 50 years, since a nasty viral syndrome triggered my fibromyalgia and left me homeless in 1975, it's been both a blessing and a challenge to see so many treatments.

On the plus side, most cases can be effectively treated (by natural practitioners). On the other hand, sorting through the options can be quite challenging.

This is usually the case as we learn about complex conditions.

As we get closer to the truth, we can tell because things start to tie together and get simpler.

EU democracy now has fewer boundaries than the average hooker

Calls to strip a former Austrian foreign minister of her citizenship set an abysmally low bar for rule of law.

Every time I hear about some new attempt by EU officials to sanction or otherwise institutionally punish their own people for saying things about Russia or Ukraine that they don't like, I'm reminded how many legal rules and principles I learned in law school that they now treat as if they were printed on a roll of Charmin.

I also can't help but think of a scene from the iconic '90s movie, 'Pretty Woman'. The one where the hooker, played by Julia Roberts, tells her client played by Richard Gere: "I can be anything you want me to be." But then it emerges that she actually has a whole lot of rules - from no kissing on the mouth to no drugs or emotional intimacy or disrespect.

Isaac Newton's lost papers - and his search for God's divine plan

'This most beautiful system ... could only proceed from the counsel and dominion of an intelligent and powerful being,' wrote Newton.

Few have had as profound an effect on modern scientific understanding as Sir Isaac Newton.

Many people are familiar with the story of how a falling apple first inspired Newton to investigate the force that would come to be known as gravity, and as he later concluded in his seminal scientific treatise, "Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy," it is this same force that pulls a fruit to ground that keeps the planets in orbit.

West under oligarchs

Western society has been hostage to the same pathology for over 2,000 years.

Today, we are in a better position than ever to end this curse and emancipate humanity.

In his remarks to the United Nations General Assembly in October 2014, Noam Chomsky opened with the statement that, "Many of the world's problems are so intractable that it's hard to think of ways even to take steps toward mitigating them." Since that speech, things only got worse and in addition to the festering social, political and economic crises plaguing the developed world, we find ourselves at risk of sliding toward another World War.

All this seems unnecessary and preventable; yet in spite of the fact that an overwhelming majority of people around the world abhor these developments, it seems oddly difficult for us to change course.
