The Greater Reset is composed of smaller communities all around the world. Real change starts at the local level with you.

We'd like to expand upon the Watch Parties program of The Greater Reset 2 and give activated people like yourselves a blueprint to hold community gatherings that take place during the days of the next event in January 2022.

Local attendees would watch The Greater Reset while it was being streamed live, and each day would have an opportunity for your events to join us on stream and share what you are doing with the world.

These community gatherings would bring together the 5 pillars of The Greater Reset, strengthening the bonds between local community members and creating a space for valuable exchange to happen.

Each event could have:
- Local venue (anyone's place?)
- Local Food (anyone grow food?)
- Local Market (anyone sell stuff?)
- Knowledge Exchange & Workshops (who knows stuff?)
- Community Building (who brings people together?)
- Organization & Tech Systems (who organizes and is tech savvy?)

Now I'd like to ask you - how excited & motivated would you be to hold an event like this in your hometown? We'll include a poll to measure interest in this program below.

Today we are thankful for a vibrant parallel economy. We just released a new above.phone advertisement on the front page of Agorist.Market!

Good, study the signal protocol and xmpp. Which one does it look sounder for you?

Which one has an open community of contributors? Which is older, tried and tested for decades?

Doe we have a company that enforces one only software to run on top that protocol? Server and client side?

Do we have an ecosystem of apps aimed at different devices?

If you are OK that session has a sound protocol, that endorses full freedom to establish an ecosystem of developers, and a federation of open networks ... Great! Go for it :-)

Most importantly, IMHO, regarding protocol:

"Does the substructure require one specific application"?

Proper distributed and decentralized, as a protocol, does not require one specific application. I would be very concerned if it did. I think that's a major point people miss.

It's the equivalent of saying, I only want my communications to go through Microsoft programs. If I simply do not want Microsoft (or session) products for what ever reason, I cannot participate. That's called vendor lock in. That never ends well. lol

XMPP allows for any vendor application which follows the open protocol.

Once the message leaves my device, it's out of my control, whether I want to accept that or not. Another thing people need to accept.

When newcomers join XMPP for the first time they are often blown away by the simplicity and quality of the messaging, voice calls, and video calls. The second realization is that although they'd love to use XMPP 100% of the time - they don't know many people in real life that they can talk to.

I'm sure you're already spreading the magic of XMPP to friends and family, but while we wait - we can bridge the gap between ourselves and ourselves and the rest of the world using JMP.chat...

I've been using Linux since 2006. My first experience was daunting as I soon discovered why there was no need for hard drive defragmentation. I installed Xubuntu on a 32-bit netbook and it runs to this day with the same OS installed. These days I use Linux Mint with XFCE on new hardware with no problems. I also use BunsenLabs (formerly CrunchBang) for it's fast responsiveness.
