Good morning😊, These two days, I will share pics of some of the events we organised as GDG AAU and also there are projects from our previous hackathon i will share some of them aswell stay tuned!😀
All about Google Developers Students Club(GDSC) or current GDG AAU between 2024 to 2025

I am sharing this because i want to share the advantage of being part of Tech community and having good connection and how it is helping me through my journey so feel free to ask if u have questions through the story😄

The first time i heard about GDSC🤔... it was about a year ago. The previous lead called for those interested to gathered as a team and try to organize the first event which was the GDSC Welcoming Event, i was one of the organizers there, it was so amazing that i was able to meet some amazing people for the first time, most of them from Tech background that was the time i realized ohh.. there is something what we call community, after that, tried to link with most of them on LinkedIn, asked them on their experience, then i decided that i need to engage more on this community, this is the time where my friend come up with an idea of summer camp, then we come up with the details together

to be continued...😄

So this week was a bit busy on my side that i wasn't able to continue the story these 3 days...😓

Back to our story,
After we plan on the summer camp idea the team was happy about it aswell so after a lot of preparation and meetings the online GDSC Summer Camp came to life i was on the Frontend team organizers with more than 4 lectures and mentors, it was fun and hard at the same time for me since i was supposed to have so many meetings and give updates to each other dedications i had but i will be honest there is so much i learned about Frontend Development working in the team💯

Continued from the above story...

After this something i forgot in between the two stories was🤔... my application for leadership position, after i got recommendation from the previous lead(For those of you who don't know GDSC's lead by the time it's Yeabsira Nigusse) and we get through all the process of applications this year's lead was announced: Unique - she is one of the best person i met in my campus life. Around the end of summer the reginal team contacted me again and told me that i will be organizing the community for this year since Unique went out of the country to continue her education abroad, so this is how i become GDG lead for this year. Once this year begins with the new organized core-team we hosted this year's opening event GDG(Google Developers Group) Opening Event on November 1, 2024. This was the first event we hosted at the start of the year. This was the time we started thinking of so many amazing events of the year and we hosted everyone of them with the help of this amazing team i have at GDG, ok so something that i am well known by the team there is that i can't sleep if i am hosting an event 😁 because it's not how we think when we attend one got a lot of work behind the scene. So below here i will put list of the major events that we host this year:

~ Telegram Bot Development Workshop - November 19, 2025

~ Full Stack Development Class by Educational Team - This was the ongoing one until the end of the year by our Educational Team but was started on November 29, 2024

~ GDG AAU Open Mic Session - was started on November 29, 2024 if you asked me to choose one of my favorite events or programs we had this year the open mic session is the top for me because i got a chance to know about the developers and peoples i really admire the most by their work and their presence in the community.
If you think like i would be happy if i joined this open mics, i got you most of them are recorded so i will share it after this post that you can listen to it anytime

~ 30 Days Code Challenge at the Telegram Channel By Educational Team and Social Media Team

~ GDG AAU Techfest - Okay this was one of the biggest event we hosted this year, with 4 stars out of five for me since we got the chance to meet so many different amazing people from the community, December 21, 2024

~ AAU Code Hackathon - March 6 and 7 which is 36 hours Hackathon, will share more about this in time i had funny moments here 😁, okay i will be honest this was well organized event of the year, have you ever imagined being somewhere for 36 hours without getting the chance to be on your bed😂
the team was amazing 9 different projects (most with full implementation) were done with 9 teams, this was the time i realized that nothing is impossible 😊. will share all the projects here later...

~ Tech Convergence Panel & AI Ethics & Nuclear Science Workshop at ALX in collaboration with other GDG's - This is different i got the chance to collaborate with different leads of GDG in different campus to host an event at ALX, got good connection here

~ Quantum Computing Workshop - This workshop was hosted by Hope - she is the most creative, Nerd and encouraging girl i knew this year and also she is one of the reasons i started this channel😊, she was the one who gave the workshop if you want to get any advise on Quantum Computing feel free to reach her out

~ IoT Workshop - May 2, 2025 - This workshop was given by Salman, okay frankly speaking he is one of the people i know in campus who are always eager to share/teach what he know. I was there and i learned good lesson on IoT with practical lessons

~ Tech Fusion 2025 - June 14, 2025, this was the last in person event of the year which focused on freelancing so here i took lesson on things i need to consider to land my first job, yes there were high rated freelancers at the event which i would always want to meet and ask about their journey,

Finally, i can say this all wasn't easy but i get the most out of it and learned a lot through everything we worked in GDG Community.

Last week I got the chance to be in Rwanda, Kigali for product innovation workshop for 6 days, it was so insightful, at the workshop 15 countries with 100+ people's participated and all with startup of their own, honestly I have never been with this many number of CEO's at the same place 😅, I learnt a lot from everyone.

How many of you know about the Jasiri program 🤔?
