Google apparently wanted to buy Nuvia for its Google Pixels
Source
Last year, Qualcomm purchased Nuvia, a start-up headed by ex-Google employees who was Lead of SoC architect and Apple employees with one of them being Chief Architect of Apple M1 SoC. Nuvia was working on custom Arm silicon, and Qualcomm wanted that so it could better compete with Apple. Intel, Microsoft and Google were too interested in buying Nuvia.
If Google would have bought Nuvia it would mean that Google would have had access to the prowess of a world-class team familiar with SoCs and would no longer need to rely on Samsung and its Exynos chips for reference designs in the future along with Tensor SoC focused purely on something like another Pixelbook.
The new SoC, codenamed 'Hamoa', features 12 CPU cores, with 8 designed for high performance and 4 for efficiency. It is being released in two versions, the SC8380X and SC8380XP, under the names Snapdragon 8cx Gen4 or Oryon CPU.
The Hamoa SoC also includes the Snapdragon X65 5G modem, which offers download speeds of up to 10Gbps, and UFS 4.0 storage. It is built using TSMC's 3nm process, which promises excellent performance and power efficiency. This could potentially lead to longer battery life of 20+ hrs, similar to that of the MacBooks on Windows devices.

An extremely early Mi Note prototype
Source
This unit was assembled in May of 2014, while the Mi Note was announced in January of 2015
The prototype features an unreleased component found on the inside of the back plate (pic 3), compared to a production back plate (pic 4).
Another pretty big difference is that the back plate is held on with adhesive on the prototype and clips on the production model.
Interestingly, there’s 2 ribbon cables running over the battery on the prototype (pic 6) whereas they’re not present on the production unit.
You can also see how they run underneath the battery on the production unit. (Pic 5)
This is an extremely early prototype which shows the many modifications and revisions that occur throughout the development process

Google's Find My Device could track your devices without a network connection in the future
Source
As of now, Google's Find My Device only tracks your devices with an internet connection, but that could change after the December 2022 Play Store update as it mentions:
"Find My Device now supports encrypted last-known-location reports for Android devices, using a new privacy-centric framework."
This could mean that Google is working to allow Find My Device to track Android devices that have been lost or stolen even without an internet connection.
With an updated Find My Device network, the location services from other Android devices could help find other Android users' missing handsets, like with Apple's Find My network.
As the information would be encrypted, only the owner of the "discovered" device would know where it is located. This network could also be used to find missing Wear OS watches.
With over 3 billion Android devices being used worldwide, Google's Find My Device network could cover the whole planet.

Samsung to showcase World's First Slidable + Foldable display at CES 2023
Source
Samsung Display has developed an OLED display named as hybrid panel that folds the screen as well as extends the screen in one panel and will be unveiled to some invitees at a closed (private) booth at CES 2023, Las Vegas, USA.
Interestingly,
When the screen is fully folded, it measures 8 inches, the typical size of a smartphone. However, when it is unfolded, the screen expands to a whopping 10 inches, making it suitable for use as a tablet.
But that's not all - the screen can be further expanded to an impressive 12.4 inches by using a sliding mechanism. This makes it a true hybrid panel that can be used in a range of devices, from smartphones and tablets to laptops and such devices will be really expensive.
This versatility makes it an ideal choice for next-generation devices that need to be able to switch between different form factors with ease.

For all MacBook Air's, the price increase will be $30, making it $159 instead of $129

A Google Home exploit lets attackers listen to your microphone and execute commands
Source
Matt Kunze, a security researcher found a way for attackers to spy on Google Home speakers using Routines.
Routines are a way to execute multiple commands at once, like "Hello Google, good morning" could turn on the lights and read you the weather.
Using a rooted phone with Magisk and man-in-the-middle tools he found a way to link his own Google account to a nearby speaker by sending deauthorization packets.
With the access to the speaker, he used Routines to run commands such as "call [phone number]" to send the microphone feed to a phone number. He can also make arbitrary HTTP requests within the victim’s LAN (which could potentially expose the Wi-Fi password or provide the attacker direct access to the victim’s other devices)
After reporting this on the 8th of January 2021, Google fixed this issue in April and rewarded him with $107,500 in May of 2022
