BREAKING: Micron kills Crucial RAM and SSD
Micron, one of the most reliable brands, is exiting consumer memory business amid global supply shortage. Micron will now focus on advanced memory chips used in AI datacenters. Shares of the company were down 2.6% in afternoon trading.
Micron will also halt the sale of the "Crucial" unit's consumer-branded products at retailers, e-tailers and distributors worldwide, but will continue product shipments through the consumer channel until February 2026, Micron said.
"This consumer memory unit is not an important driver of Micron's business", said Summit Insights analyst Kinngai Chan.

According to a report by TrendForce, Dell has issued a notice regarding price increases to its customers. Dell is expected to implement a price hike of at least 15–20%, which could take effect as early as mid-December.
Additionally, Lenovo has also begun informing customers of its price increase plans, with price adjustments scheduled to apply starting in early 2026 as market pressure mounts.
