Well, now I've spent most of my life in bed because of CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome). So, I guess the manifestation worked 😁.

here another, I was at this session a while back, and the trainer asked us, "Do you wanna live like 'ጨቡዴ ዳዴ'?"
We all looked at each other, like, "Who’s ጨቡዴ ዳዴ?"
The trainer smiled and went on:
"ጨቡዴ ዳዴ ሰኞ ተወለደ ማክሰኞ አደገ እሮብ አገባ ሀሙስ ወለደ አርብ ታመመ ቅዳሜ ሞተ እሁድ ተቀበረ"
We all cracked up 😂 and were like, "No way!"
But then it made me think... Are we living a "ጨቡዴ ዳዴ" life? Is it really a problem, or are we just stuck in a loop without even knowing it?

You know so many of our favorite snacks and foods are packed with sugar, fat, and salt? It’s not by accident. These ingredients are deliberately added to make them irresistibly addictive.
Even though we know these treats aren’t great for our health, We keep reaching for them, unable to stop, because we’ve become junkies of these products. It’s both sad and frustrating to realize that our snacks have become hidden drugs, ensnaring us without us fully recognizing it.
I mean, I don’t eat such foods nowadays because of health issues, but stay away from them as much as you can. You often only realize the damage once you’ve already suffered from it.

Why do we search for inspiration when we should already know what we want? What's the point of being inspired if it’s supposed to guide us? We don’t need maps and guides for life because we’re supposed to create our own path. But how do we do that if we're not even sure we can? And if we can't create it, why even try? Are we just following what others do, mimicking what we see and hear? It feels like a vicious cycle.
So, what's the real point of all this?

I used to be pretty good at giving training sessions and presentations in Amharic. I wasn't perfect, but I was involved in various associations and communities it wasn’t a big deal. I was also a Mastercard Scholar and went through a lot of training sessions, so it came naturally. But here’s the thing, I want to start giving training sessions in English now, and I’m not as confident about it. Like many Ethiopians, the language barrier is real for me.
So, I decided to challenge myself by doing 1-hour straight training sessions in English. I pick a topic, list out some key points, and spend a few minutes on each for the entire hour.
😂 After recording, I listen back, and honestly, if I started posting these, you’d probably think, 'What the f*** is going on with him?' It sounds like I have some kind of speaking problem! But you know what? I think it’s a good idea. Maybe you should try it too!

I remember a sweet Amharic teacher from my elementary school. One day, she said, "አጥብቆ ጠያቂ የናቱን ሞት ይርዳል...". I was puzzled and asked, "But isn’t it good to know? Shouldn’t we ask?" She looked at me with a smile and said, "Yes, but that's not the way to learn how your mother died. Sometimes, it’s better not to ask too much."
I want to relate this to decision-making. We often feel the motive to gather every little detail before making a decision, believing that the more we know, the better we can choose. But in reality, as we accumulate more and more information, we often end up feeling overwhelmed and confused, unable to decide at all.
Have you ever been in a new environment where people bombard you with so much information that you just want to stop listening altogether? The more you know, the harder it becomes to make a decision.
I once read that when making decisions, you should avoid deciding with less than 30% of the information, but also not strive to gather more than 70%.
The sweet spot for decision-making lies between 40% and 70% of the information available. Anything less and you’re likely to be uninformed; anything more, and you might find yourself drowning in details, unable to decide.

I was reading Carol Dweck's book Mindset, and here’s something interesting I found.
We’ve all heard it before, right? every one saying "It’s because of your mindset… ." just forget the detail and lets relate it to something
Do you know someone who seemed destined for success, someone with incredible skills and intelligence, but found them struggling or not living up to their potential? why someone so talented can end up stuck or unable to accomplish what they set out to do? And then you might think, "Wow, this person is a genius! If only I could be like them." I bet you’ve felt that way.
But here’s the thing sometimes, even those geniuses don’t make it. You might even surpass them. Why? Because when people are praised for being naturally smart, they start to believe that their intelligence is fixed, like it’s something they were just born with.
The problem with this belief is that once people think their intelligence is a given, they stop working to develop it. Their abilities start to fade, or they get overwhelmed by the pressure of living up to everyone’s expectations. They might let pride get in the way, thinking they don’t need to improve, or they might be paralyzed by fear of failure.
And what about you? If you believe that intelligence or talent is something you either have or don’t have, you’ll end up losing out too. The reality is that no matter how smart you are, you still need to put in the work. You have to keep learning, keep improving every day.
That’s why people who start with little, who might not seem particularly gifted at first, can end up becoming the geniuses everyone talks about. They believe that they can develop their intelligence and skills through hard work and effort, and they do. But if you believe your intelligence is fixed, even with all your potential, you could end up losing it and becoming just another "what could have been."
