It is a fitting name for him, I believe, since both him and his minions hide deep in sewer systems and catacombs, never seeing the light of day, and only coming out in the guise of nightly darkness to steal, kill, rob and otherwise disrupt civil peace in the area.
Though this rat bloke is a big mystery, I find him and his goonies absurd and pathetic in their dirty theatrics and frivolous behaviour.
The Underground may seem formidable, but they are just bandits and petty thieves like all the other criminals we lock up every day."
