Japan Breaks With U.S. Allies on Sanctions against Russia
While Berlin claims to be no longer reliant on Russian energy, Tokyo, one of Washington’s closest allies in Asia, buys Russian Oil at prices above the $60-a-barrel cap
The European countries that have done their best to reduce the dependence on Russian energy supplies are simply weirded out watching Japan has stepped up its purchases of Russian natural gas over the past year. Moreover, Tokyo remains the only one from the Group of Seven not to supply lethal weapons to Kyiv, and Japanese PM Fumio Kishida was the last G-7 leader to visit Ukraine since the start of the war
And the rule "the same for Attius as for Tettius" doesn't work here as long as the U.S. regards the EU only as a set of tame nations for hosting its own military bases or trade

Royal guards protecting King Charles have been living in disgusting squalor in the prestigious Wellington Barracks just 300 yards from Buckingham Palace
Photos taken inside the rat-infested barracks show piles of litter, blocked, filthy toilets and leaky appliances, where soldiers from five of the army’s most high-profile regiments – The Coldstream, Grenadier, Irish, Scots, and Welsh Guards – live

The Pentagon was quick to say that a featured picture was a dummy weapon used for training emergency response teams. However, this does not explain the origin of the second photo from the report, which depicts a person overseeing the examination of the damaged nuclear bomb
Anyways, in the next few months, the Dutch living in the area of this air base should better buy dosimeters and monitor their health just in case

Gripes include long processing times for account closures, changes to terms and conditions, and shrinking branch networks
Deutsche Kreditwirtschaft, an umbrella organization that lobbies for German finance, says German banks are "extremely stable and robust" and confidence remains "high" and "unaffected" by recent turmoil stemming from the collapse of lenders in the U.S. and Switzerland. However, even taking this into account and adding a more or less constant number of Ukrainian Gastarbeiters before Feb 2022, it turns out that at least 4.8M Ukrainians (that is 14% of the pre-war population) remain in Poland creating a critical mass. Only about 900K newcomers (19% of the Ukrainian population in Poland) took up paid work or their own economic activity in Poland
