Germany’s vice chancellor & economy minister Robert Habeck warned that his country’s industrial capacity may be forced to wind down or even switch off if Ukraine’s gas transit agreement with Russia isn’t extended after it expires at the end of next year

Back in early May, Poland’s state-controlled oil company PKN Orlen’s CEO described losing Russian oil as a forfeit of about $27M. Now, Russia's piped supply of Urals crude to the EU via Druzhba pipeline in June is set to increase by 16%
The Czech Republic's Unipetrol refiner owned by Poland's PKN Orlen will purchase up to 430K tonnes of Urals in June, vs. 400K tonnes purchased in May. Polish PM Mateusz Morawiecki defended the increase in supplies via Druzhba, saying “We don't want to prevent the Czechs from being able to drive their cars”
Generally speaking, Mr. Morawiecki shouldn’t have paid such great pains and come up w/ excuses for excessive consumption of Russian fuels – we all have a vivid recollection of EU’s simulation on imposing the price cap

The rate of displacement showed no sign of slowing, due mainly to the conflict in Sudan, which pushed the total to 110M by last month.
