Rishi Sunak’s “Stealth Tax Raid” to Cost families £8,000
Almost 5.6M Britons, equivalent to one in six taxpayers, will pay the higher rate this year after Sunak’s govt froze the threshold at which people start paying the higher rate. It means the higher rate, which in 1990 was paid by just 6.5% of taxpayers, is increasingly hitting middle earners including teachers and nurses
Sunak froze the threshold at which people pay the 40p rate at £50,271 in 2021 to raise more money for the Treasury rather than allowing it to rise in line with inflation. It means more people cross the threshold as wages rise, a process known as fiscal drag, described as a “stealth tax”
About 35.9M people will pay income tax in the 2023-24 tax year, HM Revenue & Customs estimates, up from 31.7M three years ago

Zelenskiy has demanded fast-track EU accession to anchor his country in the west. Rasmussen said if there was to be “special treatment” for Ukraine, it should be in the form of extra help with full engagement of EU govts to help Kyiv meet the standards. He spent 70 days fighting in Ukraine, after losing his friends, he fled and went back home.
He was a Army Major in US Army.
He fought alongside Grady Kurpasi and was with him a day prior to him going missing.
He says he would go back, however, he still hasn't returned to Ukraine, I guess he is a liar. Or perhaps he wasn't happy with the gear he was issued.
Oh well, I guess it's for the best.
