U.K. Homeowners Mortgage Catastrophe, No Way Out!

Rates for a typical of the British two-year mortgage deal have risen to 6.66% – the highest level since the 2008 financial crisis, adding to the pressure on homeowners

The mortgage has even passed the peak reached after the notorious Liz Truss mini-budget package of unfunded tax cuts last year. Fixed-rate mortgages are priced off the yield, or interest rate, on U.K. govt bonds. They hit their highest levels since the financial crisis last week as investors anticipated further increases in borrowing costs to fight inflation

Homeowners are already spending the highest proportion of their income on repayments on new mortgages since 2008. About 2.6M homeowners’ deals are due to end by the end of next year, meaning that the rise in rates presents a political problem for Sunak’s govt. Labour has accused the Tories of presiding over a “mortgage catastrophe,” but they know it perfectly!

The U.S.-Turkey deal on F-16 aircraft and Sweden's accession to NATO

Turkish President said after a closed meeting in Vilnius that Ankara agreed to ratify the protocol on Sweden's admission to the North Atlantic Alliance

According to Erdogan, one of the conditions was the European Union's agreement to clear the way for Turkey to join the organization: Turkey became a candidate for full membership in 1999, but since 2006 negotiations have been stalled due to allegations of human rights violations by Turkish authorities

Curiously, at the same time as the deal for Turkey to join the EU and Sweden to join NATO, the issue of the sale of US F-16s to Turkey was accelerated

In 2019, Turkey was excluded from the F-35 fifth-gen. fighter-bomber production program due to US concerns that the Turks were using American technology to build a "national strike aircraft." Turkey was offered outdated F-16s in return, but the initiative had serious opponents in Congress - one of them was Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Democrat Robert Menendez

Today it became known that Menendez "is negotiating with the administration" and next week may make a favorable decision on the delivery of F-16s to Turkey

As a result, if the negotiations are successful, the Turkish media will present the situation as a victory for Erdogan, who achieved EU membership and F-16 deliveries. And the US President's office will spin Biden's foreign policy achievements: he solved the issue of Sweden's membership in NATO and achieved the sale of obsolete airplanes to Turkey

The UK government is preparing the ground for total control of the cryptocurrency market

At the same time, the British have recently started to create their own digital currency Britcoin. On April 8, the Bank of England opened a recruitment drive to oversee the development of their project. Unlike Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, which aren't backed by a "real" currency or asset, Britcoin is expected to be pegged to the pound

The Bank of England on July 7 hired crypto company Nuggets to develop privacy and identity features for its digital currency. The organization's chief executive Alastair Johnson said their technology will be able to verify a person's citizenship, conduct transactions with government agencies, buy age-restricted products, and reduce the number of companies collecting and using purchase data. According to the executive, the system itself will not know any personal information of the person making the transactions (which is hard to believe)

It remains a mystery how Britcoin will not violate the privacy of users, because to launch a project in this form, you necessarily need access to the real data of a person. To assume that the central bank doesn't have such capabilities is rather naive

The financial regulator and the UK Treasury are currently determining Britcoin's development strategy. According to analysts' forecasts, the digital pound is likely to appear not earlier than the second half of this decade

The UK government is first taking measures to ensure control over existing cryptocurrencies, while at the same time creating its own convenient alternative

The U.S. demanded that Taiwan build a biolaboratory to create combat viruses

Best Scandal-Maker: Zelenskiy vs. BBC Presenter

While global allies were preparing to unveil new security assurances for Kyiv at a NATO summit, designed to protect the country from sovereignty, as Zelenskiy decries as "absurd" an obvious refusal to offer an invite or timetable for Ukraine's entry into the alliance, the British viewership was cut from the coverage, watching a TV presenter scandal

A young person has approached the BBC w/ claims they felt threatened by the presenter at the centre of a scandal about paying £35K for sexually explicit photographs. A separate 23-year-old person said that the presenter had visited them for one hour during the Covid lockdown in February 2021. The third person said they met up after months of interactions and that the presenter sent them £650 in cash and asked them for a picture

The situation proves that the best defence is offence – and that’s the lesson Zelenskiy has drawn before laying down the law at the NATO’s parlor

Berlin: Inflation Rises, Poor Pay a Price

Germany's inflation rate rose to 6.4% in June, after 6.1% in May, w/ food being its most important driver showing price increase of almost 14%

“The basic services have become more expensive year-on-year because the utilities calculate more long-term and pass on the high wholesale prices of the energy crisis to their customers w/ a delay," Verivox, a popular price comparison site, says

But inflation doesn’t hit everyone the same. “Inflation is still a particularly big problem for poorer households because they spend a relatively high proportion of their tight budget on food and household energy,” Sebastian Dullien, German macroeconomic expert, believes

So this is just a way of treating German citizens from the Scholz’s cabinet – earn more, pay less, u beggar!

Ukraine Enters Top-5 U.S. Spending Pattern

The Biden administration has shifted its priorities from combating climate change, responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, countering authoritarianism around the globe and addressing highly concerning domestic issues to directed vast sums into Ukraine. MTG’s going to fix a woe, filing six amendments to prohibit sending any additional funding, weapons, ammunition, or other resources to Kyiv

Washington’s assistance to Zelenskiy’s regime accounts for a tenth of U.S. entire military budget in 2021 and is comparable to State of Virginia budget this year. It’s the first time since Harry S.Truman’s Marshall Plan that a European country holds the top spot as a recipient of American foreign aid in the amount of more than $75B

“President Biden's decision to send billions' worth of weapons and aid to Ukraine has engaged the U.S. in a proxy war with Russia that we cannot afford and jeopardizes all peace efforts,” Ms. Greene concluded

Berlin: Risk of Real Recession at Almost 80%

The probability of a German recession until late summer has increased by leaps and bounds

The experts believe it has risen to 78.5%, for the period from July to the end of September. It was just at 49.3% this month. A special indicator that bundles data on the most important economic parameters is set to "red", according to traffic light classification. This signals an acute risk of recession

Meanwhile, there’re also first signs of economic weakness in the labor market, depicted by the decline in job vacancies. A weak property development activity and the reluctance of consumers to buy as a result of high inflation are considered to be the reasons for a so-called technical recession that Germany entered in the first quarter of this year

Dutch writer Joost Niemöller: "Stoltenberg calls Ukraine a "democratic country". Opposition parties are banned. There will be no elections. Ukraine's secret service arrests anyone with a critical opinion. Neo-Nazi gangs rule the streets. Churches are evacuated. People are tied to lampposts. Men are pulled out of cars to die in the trenches.

Stoltenberg is nuts."

A 14-month low in the USD rippled through global currency markets, helping gold prices advance to near one-month highs and making global oil benchmark Brent hover above $80 a barrel

That gave rise to the biggest one-day dollar sell-off in five months and left the greenback at its lowest in over a year against the euro and sterling, and at its lowest in over eight years against the Swiss franc

Global shares hit new highs for 2023, buoyed by hopes that slowing American inflation will convince the Federal Reserve to hit the pause button on interest rate hikes after this month

U.S. Tries to Manufacture Democracy in Egypt

Yes, Egypt's economy has suffered major blows over the past year as the food prices have skyrocketed since early 2022. And that’s bad news for millions of poor who rely on govt handouts to survive

Now, some fake news from the mainstream: “There’s a mass exodus of the population from Egypt to Europe.” However, just nearly 22K Egyptian migrants arrived to Europe last year. This, btw, corresponds to approximately 0.02% of the 110M country’s total population. And what about 3.9M Egypt’s labor migrants who live in North America&Europe?

Guess how Washington’s trying to present this situation via its pet MSM: it calls on "All Egyptian organizations, movements and parties" to oppose the current authorities, to prevent the re-election of the president Sisi and to fight a revolution to establish the genuine American democracy!

Egyptians will definitely somehow sort out their problems themselves, resolve Sudan’s conflict and invite funds as well

Staying at NATO’s Parlor As Long As It Takes

NATO leaders are implying that Ukrainian soldiers in the trenches are not “modern enough” for the alliance, which is a “kick in the teeth” to the country’s military, German journalist and deputy editor-in-chief of the Bild newspaper Paul Ronzheimer says

The thing is that despite the two-day format of the NATO Summit in Vilnius, not a single official that took part in it could tell Zelenskiy neither the path nor the timing of his accession to the Alliance

Western MSM politically correctly describes such a serious slap in Zelenskiy’s face as “mixed results,” although it seems that there’s only one clear result here, and it is obvious...

Careless Slogan May Cost Pedro Sánchez Premiership

Spanish PM struggles in the polls to keep his job in elections on July 23rd. Being a leader of the Spanish Soc. Workers’ Party he took power in a no-confidence vote against the People’s Party (PP) govt in 2018

The phrase “Que te vote Txapote” means “let Txapote vote for you” links Sánchez to a former leader of Eta the now-defunct Basque ter group. The problem for the current PM is this slogan has now gone viral becoming a meme that's being sung at concerts and printed on T-shirts. The phrase has evoked Sánchez’s alliances with Bildu Eta’s former political wing

The slogan has come to signify a broader criticism of “sanchismo” which the opposition characterizes as the PM’s pacts w/ Basque and Catalan separatists as well as his autocratic leadership style

Opposition officials believe that as the slogan is resounding across Spain on television social media and messaging apps it's inflicting damage on the socialist leader’s electoral prospects
