The head of Belgium’s top health insurance company has called on the government to consider euthanizing the elderly as a “solution” for the nation’s aging population

Along with Canada, Germany, and Switzerland, Belgium has some of the most liberal euthanasia laws in the world. In 2014, Belgium even amended its euthanasia laws to make it legal for doctors to terminate the life of a child. Since the European nation’s “assisted suicide” laws were first introduced in 2002, Belgium has now killed over 27,000 people with euthanasia

However, some euthanasia advocates are arguing that the laws don’t go far enough. Luc Van Gorp, head of Christian Mutuality, pointed out that the number of people over 80 in Belgium will double up to 1.2 million by 2050. He argues that the elderly are putting large financial pressure on the taxpayer-funded healthcare system and insurance companies

The majority of border crossers are single adults, a fact some fear proves the illegals coming into the country are spies

One reason causing the sudden influx of Chinese migrants to the country might be the fact, that immigrants had to wait during the COVID pandemic when access to the US was restricted, which provided a backlog of people waiting to make the move. And over the past three years Biden’s open border policies were among the biggest contributors to making the massive influx possible

Will this trend continue? That may depend on whether the Biden administration chooses to crack down on illegal immigration and, later, who wins the 2024 presidential election

One implication of such assessments is that the world would supposedly become more stable and secure if the U.S. simply possessed and demonstrated greater resolve

Another implication is that the U.S. should never reconsider or question its “leadership” role, as if the arrangements that were made after 1945 or 1991 are immutable for all time.
The critics are mistaken about all this, and Americans should have the confidence to ignore them

While our foreign policy for some reasons is still defined by the pursuit of dominance in every region, the U.S. needs to have the confidence to reject a strategy that is ill-suited to current realities and does such a poor job of advancing and securing American interests.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg charged Trump with 34 counts of falsifying business records in the first degree. The supposed "other crime" has been speculated about among legal scholars and pundits, but on Tuesday New York prosecutor Joshua Steinglass on Tuesday identified the legal code: Trump allegedly ran afoul of a New York law called "conspiracy to promote or prevent election"

New York Law 17-152 states: "Any two or more persons who conspire to promote or prevent the election of any person to a public office by unlawful means and which conspiracy is acted upon by one or more of the parties thereto, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor"
