🌏 [Wasting Time & Effort On Unworthy Things or People: A Subtle, Yet Tremendous Trial]
✒️ Ibn al-Jawzī (d. 597 AH) said:
"Among the greatest forms of tribulation is placing a man in a station unbefitting him (i.e., beneath him). Such as when a righteous man is compelled to use soft diplomacy with an oppressive person, repeatedly dealing with him; or forced to associate with those unworthy of his company; or burdened with tasks unbefitting his dignity; or tasked with matters that sever him from the pursuits he truly desires and prefers."

🕌 Avoid Trivial Disputes, Uphold Unity 🕌
Shaykh Rabīʿ ibn Hādī ʿUmayr – may Allah preserve him – advised the Salafis in France, saying:
“The religion of Allah and the methodology of the Salaf are not of such a shallow nature as many youths imagine – whereby division, discord, enmity, and hatred arise over the most trivial of reasons. Among these is that so-and-so spoke against so-and-so, leading one group to fanatically support one person and another group to support the other, resulting in battles and conflicts between these parties.
This action is something that Allah, His Messenger, and the religion of Islam are completely free of. Indeed, this is from the work of Shayṭān, who seeks to create division, discord, enmity, and hatred among the Muslims for the pettiest of reasons.
Moreover, this is from the ways of the people of desires, innovations, and partisan fanaticism – those who are far removed from the methodology of the Salaf, their sound reasoning, wisdom, insight, farsightedness, steadfastness, and their cohesion when facing incidents. They upheld and honoured the bonds of brotherhood and affection that Allah has commanded to be respected and preserved.”

🕌 The Believer’s Way in Mixing, Silence, Speech, and Seclusion 🕌
The noble Tābiʿī, Wahb ibn Munabbih, said:
“The believer mixes with people to gain knowledge, remains silent to keep himself safe, speaks in order to convey understanding, and withdraws in seclusion to attain benefit.”
Reported by Ibn Abī al-Dunyā in Al-ʿUzlah wa al-Infirād (no. 102) and through his chain by Abū Nuʿaym in Ḥilyat al-Awliyāʾ (vol. 4, p. 68).

The Lasting Fruits of Sitting with the Firmly Grounded Scholars
🍃 A reminder to sit with those firmly rooted in knowledge
Shaykh ʿUbayd al-Jābirī – may Allah preserve him – said:
“Know – may Allah bless you – that complete and all-encompassing happiness, which a servant attains in both his worldly life and his Hereafter, has only one path: understanding the religion. The Prophet – ﷺ – said:
‘Whoever Allah intends good for, He grants him understanding of the religion.’
There is no caller to Allah, upon insight, who truly cares about the state of the Muslims and holds himself accountable to teach them what is lawful and unlawful – that is, how they distinguish halal from haram – except that he treads the path of knowledge, saying: Allah said, His Messenger said. He strives earnestly to follow the way of the righteous early generations (al-salaf al-ṣāliḥ), those pious ones who came after the Messenger of Allah – ﷺ – from among his Companions – may Allah be pleased with them – and those who followed them with excellence throughout the ages from the imams of knowledge and religion.
Whenever such a teacher completes a knowledge-based book with his students, he moves them on to another scholarly book. Over the years, hundreds of male and female students graduate having understood tawḥīd and the Sunnah, having learnt the practical rulings of worship and the etiquettes of dealings between people, and thus they become callers themselves.
As for the mere flourish of words, aggressive rhetoric, and rushing to the forefront of criticism and validation (al-jarḥ wa al-taʿdīl) without qualification or deliberation – this is not understanding of the religion. Rather, it is an obfuscation upon the people.
O brothers and sisters, we have been addressed by the Most High – exalted is He – with the command to call to Allah. But this call is not absolute; it is restricted and bound by conditions. I do not think His saying is hidden from you:
‘Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best.’ [16:125]
Not every issue requires a response. Indeed, some of the matters that arise in public discourse are closer to mindless babbling and delirium. The perceptive, insightful person, well-versed in the principles of criticism, validation, and scholarly refutation, does not critique every statement. Rather, he transmits from among these statements that which is foundational and rooted, as opposed to setting (false) principles and conveying them to the people as if it were from Allah, when in reality it is not.
This brief note is intended as a reminder: O assembly of Muslim women, you must seek out those who will sit with you and teach you the religion of Allah from the authoritative works of Islam.”
▫️Shaykh Dr. ʿAbd al-Ilāh al-Rifāʿī al-Juhanī said:
“I say: How greatly we are in need of these pieces of advice, especially in a time when those who are ignorant – from among those who ascribe themselves to Salafiyyah yet lack both knowledge and wisdom – imagine that they are doing something good and that they are defending the methodology of the Salaf, while in reality they are causing utter corruption.”

May Allah shower our beloved Shaykh Rabī’ bin Hādī ‘Umayr al Madkhalī with His mercy and place him in the vastness of Paradise and reunite him with his many loved ones who preceded him. Decades of loving advice and care for his sons and daughters from the Far East to the West.
May Allah make his memory a blessing for us all. A modest man of humbleness and determination. An avid defender of the Sunnah and a persistent thorn in the necks of its enemies. The Salaf said “when the righteous are mentioned, mercy descends.” A life to be carefully studied and emulated.
May Allah comfort us all at this great loss and protect us from straying after the departure of our scholars.

A Farewell Counsel
Shaykh Rabīʿ ibn Hādī al-Madkhalī – may Allah have mercy on him – said on on the First Day of Eid al-Adha 1441:
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
All praise is due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and all his companions. To proceed:
I enjoin upon myself and upon you the fear of Allah – Mighty and Majestic – and sincerity to Allah in every word and deed, and diligence in seeking knowledge, and diligence in spreading the Salafi daʿwah with utmost striving, strength, and firm resolve. Strive earnestly in spreading this great call, the call of the Prophets – upon them be peace. So let us proceed upon the way of the Prophets – upon them be peace – by giving due attention to this daʿwah and spreading it in every place to which we are able to convey this call.

[What a striking resemblance between our late Shaykh and the trials of yesterday…]
Shaykh ‘Abd Allah bin ‘Abd al-Raḥīm al Bukhārī (may Allah preserve him) said:
Ibn al-Jawzī relates in Manāqib al-Imām Aḥmad (p. 148), on the authority of al-Khallāl, who said: al-Maimūnī reported:
I heard ʿAlī ibn al-Madīnī say: ‘No one supported the cause of Islam after the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as Aḥmad ibn Ḥanbal did.’ It was asked of him: ‘Not even Abū Bakr al-Ṣiddīq?’ He responded: ‘Not even Abū Bakr al-Ṣiddīq — for Abū Bakr had helpers and companions, whereas Aḥmad ibn Ḥanbal had neither helpers nor companions.’
I say: Subḥān Allāh! How closely the condition of our Shaykh, Imām al-Rabīʿ—may Allah have mercy upon him—resembled that of Imām Aḥmad in his time, as described by Ibn al-Madīnī. He fought with both pen and tongue against the people of disbelief, heresy, misleading innovations, and the figureheads of deviation and misguidance. He refuted them with decisive proofs and clear arguments. Yet his misguided enemies fabricated all kinds of slanders and blatant lies against him.
Despite this, many who now—after his death—boast of having benefited from him and claim to acknowledge his precedence in defending the Sunnah were noticeably absent when he was being viciously maligned by the people of kufr, zandaqah, bidʿah, and hawa. Where were they in defending him and the truth he stood for and clarified?
Many simply stood as idle spectators. Some adopted the stance of gloating critics, malicious backbiters, or demoralizers, failing to fulfill their religious duty of supporting the truth and its people. But our Shaykh—may Allah have mercy on him—paid no attention to that, for he knew for certain that no one walks the path of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ except that they encounter enmity. As narrated in the Ṣaḥīḥ of al-Bukhārī.
May Allah have mercy on our Shaykh and make his efforts and the valuable scholarly legacy he left behind a continuous charity for him after his death. Allāhumma āmīn.

🔹 Shaykh ʿAbd al-Laṭīf ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān Āl al-Shaykh [d. 1293 AH] said about his great grandfather (Muhammad bin ‘Abd Al Wahhāb-
“And he—may Allah have mercy upon him—possessed virtues and noble deeds that are not hidden from those endowed with excellence and discernment.
Among the honors that Allah specially granted him was that the enemies of the religion and adversaries of Allah’s believing servants unleashed themselves upon reviling him, assailing him with false accusations and slander.”

[As the Lights Fade, What Lurks in the Shadows Creeps Forward]
With the passing of our Shaykh, al-ʿAllāmah Rabeeʿ ibn Hādī al-Madkhalī رحمه الله, it is no surprise that disgruntled ḥizbiyyīn have begun to stir. For decades, the Shaykh faithfully and precisely clarified the methodology of daʿwah and reform, dismantling false principles and exposing their promoters across the globe.
Now, some of his opponents—long suppressed by the force of his clarity—are crawling out from their holes. Some seek to rewrite the narrative. Others go further, attempting to crown themselves as khulafāʾ, appointing themselves judges over groups, individuals, and methodologies—using the very principles—rooted in the extremes of tamyīʿ and ḥaddādiyyah—that the Shaykh had long refuted and dismantled. None of this is surprising.
But the answer to chaos is not clamor—it is clarity.
➤ Be busied with sound knowledge.
➤ Strengthen the bonds of unity and brotherhood upon the Sunnah.
➤ Spread the speech of qualified and trustworthy mashāyikh who remain firm upon the path.
Let the attention-seekers exhaust themselves with noise and nonsense. We must remain grounded—in revelation, sincerity, and the inheritance of the scholars. Now more than ever.
