Step App is launching a private beta of its metaverse fitness platform with eight-time Olympian Usain Bolt.

The famous runner has become the face of a new move-to-earn brand that aims to become a gaming metaverse. “Exercise has always been and still is a huge part of my life. When I found out what the Step App team was building, I was immediately inspired and wanted to be a part of this incredibly important global movement,” Bolt said.

The concept of the platform is to turn everyday physical activities, like walking the dog or jogging in the evening, into income in an interesting and playful way. For completing quests, users will receive KCAL tokens.

The creators will also release the brand's SNEAKs, digital shoes that users can buy, sell and wear digitally.

🚀 Instagram NFT features launch in 100 countries

The company has previously tested NFT on the Instagram and Facebook app with a limited number of users. Now NFTs will be available to all Instagram users in 100 countries.

Instagram NFTs will support connecting third-party wallets from Coinbase Wallet, Dapper Wallet, Rainbow, Metamask, and Trust Wallet, while supported blockchains will currently be Ethereum, Polygon, and Flow.

The tag in the lower left corner called "Digital Collectible" will make NFT stand out from other posts.

⚡️ OneFootball lands NFT deal for Serie A football video moments

Football publisher OneFootball has acquired the rights to release Italian Serie A football highlights videos in the form of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

1300 Moments (NFTs) will be released on the Series A marketplace called Aera as video clips. Among these match moments, for example, will be the Coppa Italia and Supercopa Italia, memorable goals, fan moments, saves, defenses and assists.

The first digital clip will be released on August 1st and the first release is scheduled for August 29th.

The Serie A and OneFootball deal suggests that there will be no ban on the volume of each drop and that there will be a price point that encourages multiple purchases of moments, making it similar to collecting player cards.

The startup has already raised $3.26 million from several investors. Artfi was launched with the goal of making art accessible to everyone. By buying NFTs, people will invest in fine arts.

NFTs will be minted in the landfill network. Work is also underway to create a museum in the metaverse, where the art collection will always be available.

🚀 PayPal adds cryptocurrency services to its mobile app

PayPal announced on its official Twitter account the full integration of cryptocurrencies into its mobile application.

Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ethereum (ETH), and Litecoin (LTC) are now available for PayPal mobile app users to buy, sell, hold, and transfer.

Previously, digital assets could not be withdrawn to external wallets. Since June of this year, this opportunity has appeared for a limited number of users, and now transactions with cryptocurrency in the application can be performed without restrictions.

The minimum amount of a cryptocurrency purchase transaction is $1. To use cryptocurrency as a payment method for purchases, you will have to complete the W-9 tax form in the application.

⚡️ Australian petrol station brand On The Run starts accepting crypto payments

A major Australian petrol station brand called On The Run (OTR) has launched crypto payment support across all 175 of its petrol stations. Now its visitors will be able to pay for fuel and snacks with cryptocurrency.

The project was able to deploy and test in just 8 weeks with the support of the Crypto.com exchange and local payment service provider DataMesh.

OTR’s parent company plans to install specialized terminals in 250 more retail outlets soon, including Subway Cafe and Krispy Creme.

“Now any owner of a store or cafe, or the head of a network of a thousand stores, can easily connect to cryptocurrency payments.”
