Guys can we create like an agreed upon market rate for freelancing job prices. Would be cool if freelancing had a collectively floated price for every kind of job.
It avoids the moment where you have to bargain with your client.
You just put "Freelance market-rate" in your bio and you only worry about work.
This will be great for client confidence. I am convinced that people will use something more if they know the price before hand. Like going to the grocery store.
Just saying it would be nice if the freelancing market had some kind of transparent economy to it that insures both parties are benefitting.
The client is always worried that they are overpaying and the developer is always worried that they are getting underpaid
Or if you think what you do is special you can just say 3X market-rate or 2X market rate and save a lot of your time
or if you want to compete 1/2 market rate
this would def introduce some interesting dynamics to the freelancing market place
just a thought
also while we are at it we should create a decentralized version of UpWork. If we build a decentralized open source UpWork alternative we could make the market-rate determined by the average price for the specific task that the client needs done. Also another benefit of owning the platform is no fees. Meaning both clients and developers benefit.
