در تاریکی مطلق آن شبی که آن رشوههای لعنتی
عاقبت دامن هیولای تاریکی را گرفته بود
دوست دارد شعر بخواند
در حالی که آن اهریمن مخوف
مست و پاتیل، افسار زنان
بر ارابهی طلایی خود میتازد
گاهی میخواهد خودش را لوس کند
برای آن سرو بلند و سایه سارش
که آن تندباد بیدرنگ
با اختلاس برگهایش
سایهاش را ربوده بود

INFLUENCE is situated in the intersection of machine learning, reinforcement learning and multiagent systems. The aim of the project is to investigate how to scale up methods for automated decision making for complex systems.
In particular, we will focus on using machine learning techniques to learn representations of 'influence' (e.g. how certain parts of the system affect other parts), and using such representations to scale up decision making. INFLUENCE will focus on two problems domains:
-coordinated control of traffic lights in a large city
-autonomous warehousing with teams of robots
(But also other domains can be considered).

Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Lab for Computational Physiology at Institute for Medical Engineering & Science (IMES) has an immediate opening for a Postdoctoral Associate in Machine Learning for Medicine.
We are seeking a highly-motivated individual to join a multidisciplinary research team to develop machine learning techniques for treatment decision support. The project offers opportunities to develop/apply novel machine learning and reinforcement learning techniques to derive insights from heterogeneous observational data from electronic health
records as well as multivariate physiological signals from patient monitors.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated an outstanding capability for independent research and a solid publication record in top-tier machine learning, AI conferences. Candidate must hold a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a related field. Knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas would be desirable:
deep learning, representation learning, generative models, transfer and multi-task learning, reinforcement learning, high-dimensional
multivariate time series analysis, dynamical systems and state-space models. Experience in causal inference, machine learning for healthcare, clinical medicine, or physiological time series analysis would be a plus, but not required. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated an outstanding capability for independent research and a solid publication record in top-tier machine learning, AI conferences. Candidate must hold a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a related field. Knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas would be desirable:
deep learning, representation learning, generative models, transfer and multi-task learning, reinforcement learning, high-dimensional
multivariate time series analysis, dynamical systems and state-space models. Experience in causal inference, machine learning for healthcare, clinical medicine, or physiological time series analysis would be a plus, but not required. The Reiser lab at the Janelia Research Campus seeks a creative scientist to join our endeavor to understand how the fly brain uses visual information to control behavior.
We use behavioral, anatomical, imaging, electrophysiological, and computational techniques to crack the neural circuits for vision and navigation in Drosophila. This is an exciting time to be working on the fly brain. It is the golden age of Drosophila neuroanatomy—full brain connectomes and precise genetic access to nearly every cell type in the brain are on the horizon. It is likely that within the next few years the behavioral methods used for establishing functional roles for identified cell types will become rate limiting. We have developed a number of new instruments and methods for high-content behavioral analysis and are recruiting a scientist to help with the development and application of these new tools.
In this position you would lead our efforts to apply these new tools to deeply map behavioral circuits. Many specific projects are possible that are related to active research topics in the lab (visual motion guided behaviors; visual place learning; central modulation of visual circuits).
Requirements:
A keen interest in figuring out the brain.
Ph.D. in neuroscience, experimental biology, or a quantitative field.
Familiarity with diverse computing environments.
Experience in animal behavior, neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, instrumentation, computer vision, machine learning, and/or computational neuroscience is a big plus.
