Imām ash-Shāfi’ee [may Allāh have mercy on him] said:

“If the people were to reflect upon Surah al-‘Asr, it would be sufficient for them.”

Tafseer ibn Katheer, 1/63 | Imām ibn Katheer [may Allāh have mercy on him]

Surah al-‘Asr

By time, Indeed, mankind is in loss, Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience.

Surah al-‘Asr, Al-Āyāt 1-3

-----

Lessons from Suratul Asr where Allah (swt) says that all people are in danger except those who have four qualities:
1. having faith,
2. doing good deeds,
3. calling people to the truth,
4. calling people to patience.

WHAT TO DO FOR A DYING PERSON

When death approaches a person, those in his presence are required to do certain things, as described as follows:

1️⃣. He should be gently but firmly prompted to utter the Shahadah (Laa ilāha illa-Allāh).

Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri narrated that: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Exthort your dying to say: 'Laa illāha illa-Allāh (None has the right to be worshipped but ALLĀH)'" {Muslim #916 and others}

Mu’adh ibn Jabal reported: The Messenger of ALLĀH (ﷺ) said, "He whose last words are Laa illāha illa-Allāh (None has the right to be worshipped but ALLĀH), will enter Paradise." {Abu Da‌wu‌d #3116}

2️⃣. The prompting should be done by commanding him and helping him to utter it himself.

Anas reported that ALLAH’S Messenger (ﷺ) visited a dying man of the Ansar and said to him: "0 my maternal uncle! Say, 'Laa ilāha illa-ALlāh'. The man asked, 'Am I your maternal or paternal uncle?' The Prophet (ﷺ) replied, 'Maternal' He asked, 'Is it good for me to say, Laa ilāha illa-ALlāh'. He (ﷺ) replied, 'Yes!'" {Ahmad #12543}

3️⃣. Supplication should be sincerely made for him and to say good things that give him glad tidings.

Umm Salamah reported that ALLAH’S Messenger (ﷺ) said: "When you are present with a sick or dying person, say good things, because the angels endorse what you say (by saying amin)."

Umm Salamah added that when Abu Salamah died, she went to the Prophet (ﷺ) and told him, "O ALLĀH's Messenger (ﷺ)! Abu Salamah has passed away." He instructed her to say:

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَلَهُ وَأَعْقِبْنِي مِنْهُ عُقْبَى حَسَنَةً
O ALLĀH! forgive me and him (Abu Salamah) and give me a better substitute than he.

So I said (this), and ALLĀH gave me in exchange Muhammad, who is better for me than him (Abu Salamah.
{Muslim #919}

4️⃣. It is permissible for a Muslim to visit a dying disbeliever in other to call them to Islam.

Anas reported that a Jewish youth used to serve the Prophet (ﷺ). He (ﷺ) visited him in his fatal illness, sat by his head, and said to him, "Embrace Islam; embrace Islam!" The boy looked at his father (as if to take his permission), and he told him, "Obey Abu al-Qasim!" So he did, and then died. The Prophet (ﷺ) departed saying: "All praise be to ALLĀH who has saved him from the Fire."

He then commanded his companions: "Pray janazah for your companions." {al-Bukhari #1356, Ahmad #13736 and others}

“O ʿĀʾishah! Don’t turn the poor away.”

The Prophet ﷺ said, “O ʿĀʾishah! Don’t turn the poor away, even if all you have to give is half a date. O ʿĀʾishah! Love the poor and bring them close [to you] for Allaah will then bring you close on the Day of Resurrection.”

✉️The Advice on Istighfaar from the Qur’an.

A man complained to al-Hasan al-Basri (rahimahullah) about a drought.
So he said to him: Pray to Allah for forgiveness (do istighfar)

Another man complained to him of poverty.
So he said to him: Pray to Allaah to forgive you (make istighfar)

Another man said to him: Pray to Allah to bless me with a child.
He said: Pray to Allaah for forgiveness. (istighfar)

Another complained to him that his garden was dry.
He said to him: Pray to Allaah for forgiveness.

We asked him about that (as to why he gave the same advice for all situations that were presented to him)
And he (rahimahullah) replied: This is not my personal opinion. For Allah (azza wa jall) says:

"Ask forgiveness from your Lord, Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver;

• He will send rain to you in abundance.
• And give you increase in wealth
• and children,
• and bestow on you gardens
• and bestow on you rivers.
(Surah Nuh, 10-12)

[Tafsir al-Qurtubi (rahimahullah), 18, 301-302, Tafsir Surah Nuh 10-12]

Increase in seeking forgiveness (istighfaar) in your homes, on your dining tables/places, in your streets, in your markets, in your sittings and wherever you may be. For indeed, you do not know at what time Allah’s blessings will descend.

[al-Hasan al-Basri (rahimahullah), al-Bayhaqi (rahimahullah), Shu’b al-Imaan]

If you find yourself in confusion then adhere to seeking forgiveness (istighfar). Indeed, by seeking forgiveness, Allaah opens up the way for the slave.

[Shaykh Muhammad ibn Salih al-‘Uthaymeen (rahimahullah), Sharh al-Kafeeya ash-Shafeeya, 3/189]

-

Shaykhul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullah) said:

Indeed whenever I waiver and become indecisive in my mind about an issue, or about
something or (get in a) a situation (which is problematic for me) then I ask forgiveness of Allaah the Most High (make istighfar) a thousand times or more, or less

until He opens my chest for me and solves the problem which I was confused about (or found it difficult).

Even if at that time I was in a market place, or in a masjid or in a mountain pass or a school (but) that does not prevent me from the remembrance (of Allaah) and asking for forgiveness until I achieve my objective.

[al-Uqoodad-Durriyyah min Manaaqib Shaykhul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullah) by Ibn ‘Abdul-Haadee (rahimahullah), pg. 5, Daar Kutub al-‘Ilmiyyah Print]

Imam Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah) said:

Two things illuminate the heart:

• Asking for forgiveness (from Allah).

• Remembrance (Dhikr) of Allah.

[al-Wabil as-Sayyib, pg. 92, Imam Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah)]
Giving Charity on Fridays

● Ka'b al-Ahbar (rahimahullah) said:

The sun has neither risen nor set on a day greater than the day of Friday,

and charity given on it is greater than on other days.

[Sahih Musannaf of 'Abd al-Razzaq (rahimahullah), 5558]

● al-A‘mash narrated from Mujahid, from ‘Abdullah ibn Damrah,

from Ka‘b (rahimahumullah) who said:

Charity is multiplied on Friday.

[Musannaf ibn Abi Shaybah, 2/57, no. 6, Maktabah Islamiyyah]

● Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah) said:

Giving charity on Friday has a special merit compared to other days,

just as giving charity during the month of Ramadan has a higher merit compared to the rest of the year.

I witnessed Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullah)

when he would go out for Jumuaah,

he would take whatever he found at home—be it bread or anything else—and give it as charity in secret on his way.

I heard him say:

“If Allah commanded us to give charity before consulting with the Messenger of Allah (sallAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) (58:12),

then giving charity before consulting with Allah is even more virtuous and deserving of merit.”

[Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah), Zaad al-Maad, 1/399]

● Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah) said:

If the one giving charity

knew

that his charity landed in the Hand of Allah

before the hand of the poor person (48:10),

the pleasure of the giver would be greater than the pleasure of the receiver.

[Ibn ul-Qayyim (rahimahullah), al-Madarij as-Salikeen, 1/26]

Making du‘ā’ (supplication) during rainfall is highly encouraged in Islam and is considered a time when du‘ā’ is more likely to be accepted. This practice is supported by authentic narrations from the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and is therefore considered Sunnah.

---

Benefits of Making Du‘ā’ in the Rain:

1. Time of Acceptance
Rain is one of the times when the du‘ā’ is likely to be accepted by Allah, as it is a moment of mercy descending from the heavens.

2. Demonstration of Tawheed and Humility
During rain, the believer recognizes that only Allah sends down rain from the sky, and this increases their humility and reliance upon Him.

3. Following the Sunnah
Making du‘ā’ during rainfall is following the example of the Prophet ﷺ, which earns reward and brings barakah (blessing).

4. Connection to Allah’s Mercy
Rain is a symbol of Allah’s mercy, and connecting du‘ā’ to that moment ties it to a time of divine generosity.

---

Proof from the Sunnah:

1. Sahih Narration from al-Hakim and Abu Dawud
The Prophet ﷺ said:

> "Two are the du‘ā’s that are not rejected: du‘ā’ at the time of the call to prayer and du‘ā’ when it is raining."
— [Sahih al-Jami‘, 3078; Abu Dawud; al-Hakim declared it sahih]

2. Narrated by Sahl ibn Sa‘d:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

> "Seek the response to your supplications when the armies meet, the prayer is established, and the rain falls."
— [Reported by al-Shafi‘i in al-Umm (1/235), authenticated by al-Albani in Sahih al-Jami‘, 1026]

---

Scholarly Opinions:

Ibn Qayyim (رحمه الله) stated in Zād al-Ma‘ād that among the recommended times for du‘ā’ is when rain falls.

Imam Nawawi (رحمه الله) mentioned in al-Adhkār that it is Sunnah to make du‘ā’ when it rains because of the narrations.

✍🏼 *When the heart aches from the weight of what has passed, know that healing does not lie in constant grief, but in returning to what Allah has taught.*

Al-Ridhaa – Accept what Allah has decreed
Al-Hamd – Be grateful, even in pain
Al-Sabr – Be patient through trials
Al-Imaan bil-Qadr – Have full faith in Allah’s perfect plan
Say: “Qadr Allahu wa ma sha’a fa’al” – “It is the decree of Allah, and what He wills, He does.”

🌿 “No calamity befalls except by permission of Allah. And whoever believes in Allah – He will guide his heart.”
[Surah At-Taghabun 64:11]

🌿 “Be mindful of Allah, and He will take care of you. Know that what has passed you by was never meant to befall you, and what has befallen you was never meant to pass you by.”
[Tirmidhi | Hasan]

Let the heart find comfort in the wisdom of His decree. What was written was never a mistake. With every loss, there is a hidden mercy. With every delay, a greater purpose.

May Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى grant peace, strength, and tranquility to every grieving heart. Aameen

Allāh’s acceptance is of two kinds:

The first is when a servant prays, and does all actions and forms of worship with his heart attached to Allāh, remembering Him consistently. Then the actions of the servant will be presented to Allāh until it stands in front of Him so He may looks at them. When He looks at them He sees them as being sincerely for His face, from a heart that is sound and sincere with love for Allāh, drawing close to Him. He loves them and is pleased with them and accepts them.

The second is when a servant does actions out of habit and carelessness. He intends to do the acts of obedience in order to get closer to Allāh, so while his limbs are busy with obedience, his heart is distracted from the remembrance of Allāh. So when these acts of devotion are raised up to Allāh they do not stand in front Him nor does He look at them. Instead they are placed with the rest of the actions that are recorded, until they are presented to him on the day of judgment and are separated.

Then the person is rewarded according to the actions that were for Allāh and what which was not for the face of Allāh is rejected. So the acceptance of his action is rewarded with something Allāh has created; palaces, food and drink, and wide-eyed women [of Paradise]. The reward for the first kind is being pleased with the action for Himself and being pleased with those that interact such devotional deeds, He brings him closer, raising his rank and status. This person will be given without measure. So the two kinds are very different [in reward].

Both Israel and Iran are the enemies of Islam. It’s not correct to support EITHER!

Imam Malik رحمه الله said
"Allah will take revenge on the oppressor with an oppressor, and then He will take revenge on both of them."
[Manh Al-Jalil, 9/195]

Iran is NOT an Islamic COUNTRY.
It is NOT right to side with a country who curses and insults the Mothers of the Believers and makes Takfir on the companions of the Prophet ﷺ!! And who commit shirk against Allah ﷻ and seeks help from GRAVES. BOTH ARE KUFFAR.

"We never know but some people are going through the lowest of their lives and sometimes they couldn't even manage to reply a good morning back to your messages, couldn't afford to do a meet up, they cancel plans on the last minute, they lock up in their rooms, it takes time for them to function again. And that is why we must stay gentle and kind. The world is too heavy already for them to carry on their shoulders. We leave a mark to each other, remind yourself to leave a beautiful one."
