Prayer Attracts Provision

Shaykh ul-Islam Ibn Al-Qayyim Al-Jawzeeyah [رحمه الله] said:

‏«الصلاة مجلبة للرزق حافظة للصحة، دافعة للأذى مطردة للأدواء، مقوية للقلب مبيضة للوجه، مفرحة للنفس مذهبة للكسل.»

❝Prayer attracts provisions, preserves health, it defends against harm, repels diseases. It strengths the heart and illuminates the face. It gives delight to the soul and removes laziness.❞

Depression isn’t always tears and darkness.

It's staring at your phone, knowing you should reply, but feeling frozen.

It's eating cereal for dinner because cooking feels impossible.

It's sitting in your car because you don’t have the energy to go inside.

It's wanting connection, but feeling too drained to engage.

For some it’s exhaustion. For others it's not showering, not eating, shutting down, isolating.

For many it’s the silent battles no one sees the freezing, the overwhelm, the constant push just to exist.

Depression is:
Not having the energy to shower.
Forgetting what day it is.
Feeling disconnected from your own life.
Sitting in silence because you don’t know what to say anymore.
Trying so hard just to exist.

It’s not laziness.
It’s survival.

And you don’t have to survive alone.

Depression isn't one ‘look.’ It's a hundred tiny ways your body and mind are trying to cope.

If you're struggling in any of these ways, you’re not lazy, dramatic, or broken.

You're surviving something heavy and I see you.

And I stand with all of you.

The Prophet ﷺ said istighfar opens the doors of relief

The Prophet ﷺ said:

> “Whoever holds tightly to istighfar, Allah will make for him a way out of every difficulty, and a relief from every worry, and will provide for him from where he doesn’t expect.”
— Sunan Abu Dawud

Every stress → a way out
Every sadness → a relief
Every confusion → clarity
Every fear → calmness

All through “Astaghfirullah”.

Imām Ibn Al-Qayyim (may Allāh have mercy on him) said:

"Most of the ailments of the body and the heart arise from the absence of patience. Nothing preserves the soundness of hearts, bodies, and souls like patience, for it is the greatest distinction and the most excellent remedy. And if it contained no virtue other than the companionship of Allāh with those who possess it, that would suffice—for indeed, Allāh is with the patient(1)."

LIFE OF THIS WORLD RESEMBLES THE WATER.

And put forward to them the example of the life of this world, it is like the water (rain) which We send down from the sky, and the vegetation of the earth mingles with it, and becomes fresh and green. But (later) it becomes dry and broken pieces, which the winds scatter. And Allah is Able to do everything. (Al Qurʾān 18:45)
Umar Ibn Al-Khattab )رضي الله عنه said

"Never say a person has good character, until you see how he behaves when he is angry & never say a person is righteous until you see how he controls himself when he is faced with temptations."

📍 Understanding the Sacred Miqats 🕋

The miqat boundaries are sacred stations where pilgrims enter into the state of ihram before performing Umrah or Hajj. Each location serves pilgrims traveling from different directions:

🔸 Dhul Hulaifah (Madinah) - For those coming from Madinah
🔸 Al-Juhfah - Western route pilgrims
🔸 Jeddah - Modern entry point
🔸 Qarn al-Manazil - Pilgrims from Najd
🔸 Yalamlam - Southern route travelers
🔸 Dhat ’Irq - Pilgrims from Iraq

⚠️ Important Reminder: If you intend to perform Umrah or Hajj, you must NOT cross the miqat boundary without entering the state of ihram.

These boundaries encircle the blessed city of Makkah, marking the threshold where every pilgrim’s spiritual journey begins. Make sure you know your miqat before embarking on this sacred journey! 🤲

THE STARS HAVE NOT CONTROL OVER ANYTHING

Imaam Barbahaaree rahimahullaah said:

Look into the stars sparingly, just enough to help you to know the times of the prayer. And turn away from whatever besides that, since it invites to apostasy

Narrated Zaid bin Khalid Al-Juhani: The Prophet (ﷺ) led us in the Fajr prayer at Hudaibiya after a rainy night. On completion of the prayer, he faced the people and said,

“Do you know what your Lord has said (revealed)?” The people replied, “Allah and His Apostle know better.” He said, “Allah has said,

‘In this morning some of my slaves remained as true believers and some became non-believers; whoever said that the rain was due to the Blessings and the Mercy of Allah had belief in Me and he disbelieves in the stars, and whoever said that it rained because of a particular star had no belief in Me but believes in that star.’ “

[Al-Bukhari] [Muhsin Khan’s Translation]

Qatadah (radi Allaahu anhu) said,

“These stars were only created for three purposes: Allah created them as adornment for the heaven (sky), as missiles for the devils and as signs for navigation. Therefore, whoever seeks to interpret any other meanings for them other than these, then verily he has spoken with his own opinion, he has lost his portion and burdened himself with that which he has no knowledge of.”

Ibn Jarir and Ibn Abi Hatim both recorded this statement.

Shaykh Rabīʿ [حفظه الله] said:

‎❝Some people, wrongly and oppressively, say they belong to this [Salafī] methodology. They have come out in public with low, despicable, rotten approaches and manners, and from that Salafiyyah is being struck using the name of Salafiyyah.❞

[Al-Dharīʿah, (3/214) | Translated By Mikail Ibn Mahboob Ariff]
We will certainly test you with a touch of fear and famine and loss of property, life, and crops. Give good news to those who patiently endure

who, when faced with a disaster, say, “Surely to Allah we belong and to Him we will ˹all˺ return.”

They are the ones who will receive Allah’s blessings and mercy. And it is they who are ˹rightly˺ guided.

ALLAH ALL-MIGHTY SENT THE PROPHETS AND MESSENGERS AS BEARERS OF GLAD TIDINGS AND WARNERS

Narrated Jabir bin `Abdullah may Allāh be Pleased with him:

We were with Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) collecting Al-Kabath at Mar-Az-Zahran. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Collect the black ones, for they are Better." Somebody said, (O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)!) Have you ever shepherded sheep?" He said, "There has been No Prophet but has shepherded them."

Sahih al-Bukhari 5453

NOTE 📝

1. Allah All-Mighty Sent the Prophets and Messengers as bearers of Glad Tidings and Warners. Since delivering these messages required that they be prepared and trained beforehand, Allah nurtured and taught them through various means, among them was herding sheep, to develop Patience, Compassion, Mercy, the ability to gather and guide the scattered, and other Noble qualities.

2. al-Hafidh Ibn Hajar explained while commenting on this hadith that the hadith setting occurred at Mar al-Zahran, near Makkah, where the Prophet ﷺ and his companions were gathering fruit from the arak trees. When the Prophet ﷺ was asked how he knew which fruits were the best, he replied, implying that his experience as a shepherd taught him such knowledge. This highlights the Wisdom in Prophets having herded sheep; it nurtured Humility, Patience, and Observation. Scholars also noted that the hadith implies the permissibility of eating fruit from unowned trees, as was common in the early period of Islam. Later scholars clarified that while this was once a necessity due to Scarcity, it remains Permissible without being Blameworthy, as many Pious people prefer such Simple, Lawful Provisions. - Fathul Baari, Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani.

3. The hadith highlights the Virtue of shepherding, which nurtures Patience, Humility, and Care; qualities essential for leadership. It also reflects the Prophet’s ﷺ deep Humility and his Gentle, Pleasant interaction with his companions, demonstrating his concern for their Well-being and his eagerness to guide them with Kindness and Wisdom.

A Mention of What The Righteous Saw In Their Dreams

A short compilation of righteous scholars that were seen in dreams after their deaths informing others of what Allāh did with them

Excerpt:

Sufyān al-Thawrī was seen in a dream and he was asked: “What did Allāh do with you?” He replied, “I had only just been put into the grave and there I was, in front of the Lord of the Worlds. I entered and was met with a voice that said: 'Sufyān?' I said: ‘Sufyān.’

He said, ‘Do you remember a day you preferred Allāh over your desires?’ I said: 'Yes', (upon answering], trays bearing scattered pearls from Paradise carried me away (or encompassed me).”

📖 Abu Sa’eed Al-Khudri RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: Some people from the Ansar asked the Messenger of Allah SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam and he gave them. Then they asked for charity again and he SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam gave them. Then they asked again and he gave them until all he had was gone. The Prophet Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "If I had anything, I would not withhold it. Whoever refrains from asking others, then Allah will make him content. Whoever would be independent, then Allah will make him independent. Whoever would be patient, then Allah will make him patient. There is no gift that is better and more comprehensive than patience."

The consequence of boasting — over any blessing — is loss.

Whether a person boasts about the blessing of knowledge, wealth, status, or anything else…

“He said to his companion while arguing with him: ‘I have more wealth than you and more supporters.’”
Sūrah al-Kahf (18:34)

And the final outcome:

“And his fruits were destroyed, so he began wringing his hands over what he had spent on it, as it had collapsed upon its trellises.”
Sūrah al-Kahf (18:42)
Sufyan path-Thawri (رحمه الله) said:

“It used to be said: ‘A time will come upon the people, when the hearts will die whilst the bodies will remain alive.”

-Hilyatul Awliya, 2/409.

Always remember that not all days are the same - "A DAY FOR YOU AND A DAY AGAINST YOU". So do not rejoice thinking that you will get away with your sins.

{If a wound has touched you, be sure a similar wound has touched the (opposing) people. And these days [of varying conditions - the good and not so good] We alternate among the people...}

Unrealistic Hopes

Abu al-'Āliyah (rahimahullah) — A Tabi’ee (a student of the Sahaba, (radiyAllahu ‘anhum), said:

There will come a time when people's chests will be empty of the Quran. They will find neither sweetness nor satisfaction with it.

If they do not live up to that which they were commanded to do they will say: "Indeed Allah is forgiving and merciful."

And if they do those things they were forbidden from they will say: "He will forgive us because we did not associate any partners with him”

Everything for them is based on avarice, not honesty.

[Imam Ahmed (rahimahullah), Kitab al-Zuhd, 1714]
“A believer is not bitten from the same hole twice.” Sahih Muslim

"Be cautious of deceptive friends a true believer learns, observes, and stays wise."
