ALLAH ALL-MIGHTY SENT THE PROPHETS AND MESSENGERS AS BEARERS OF GLAD TIDINGS AND WARNERS

Narrated Jabir bin `Abdullah may Allāh be Pleased with him:

We were with Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) collecting Al-Kabath at Mar-Az-Zahran. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Collect the black ones, for they are Better." Somebody said, (O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)!) Have you ever shepherded sheep?" He said, "There has been No Prophet but has shepherded them."

Sahih al-Bukhari 5453

NOTE 📝

1. Allah All-Mighty Sent the Prophets and Messengers as bearers of Glad Tidings and Warners. Since delivering these messages required that they be prepared and trained beforehand, Allah nurtured and taught them through various means, among them was herding sheep, to develop Patience, Compassion, Mercy, the ability to gather and guide the scattered, and other Noble qualities.

2. al-Hafidh Ibn Hajar explained while commenting on this hadith that the hadith setting occurred at Mar al-Zahran, near Makkah, where the Prophet ﷺ and his companions were gathering fruit from the arak trees. When the Prophet ﷺ was asked how he knew which fruits were the best, he replied, implying that his experience as a shepherd taught him such knowledge. This highlights the Wisdom in Prophets having herded sheep; it nurtured Humility, Patience, and Observation. Scholars also noted that the hadith implies the permissibility of eating fruit from unowned trees, as was common in the early period of Islam. Later scholars clarified that while this was once a necessity due to Scarcity, it remains Permissible without being Blameworthy, as many Pious people prefer such Simple, Lawful Provisions. - Fathul Baari, Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani.

3. The hadith highlights the Virtue of shepherding, which nurtures Patience, Humility, and Care; qualities essential for leadership. It also reflects the Prophet’s ﷺ deep Humility and his Gentle, Pleasant interaction with his companions, demonstrating his concern for their Well-being and his eagerness to guide them with Kindness and Wisdom.

A Mention of What The Righteous Saw In Their Dreams

A short compilation of righteous scholars that were seen in dreams after their deaths informing others of what Allāh did with them

Excerpt:

Sufyān al-Thawrī was seen in a dream and he was asked: “What did Allāh do with you?” He replied, “I had only just been put into the grave and there I was, in front of the Lord of the Worlds. I entered and was met with a voice that said: 'Sufyān?' I said: ‘Sufyān.’

He said, ‘Do you remember a day you preferred Allāh over your desires?’ I said: 'Yes', (upon answering], trays bearing scattered pearls from Paradise carried me away (or encompassed me).”

📖 Abu Sa’eed Al-Khudri RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: Some people from the Ansar asked the Messenger of Allah SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam and he gave them. Then they asked for charity again and he SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam gave them. Then they asked again and he gave them until all he had was gone. The Prophet Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "If I had anything, I would not withhold it. Whoever refrains from asking others, then Allah will make him content. Whoever would be independent, then Allah will make him independent. Whoever would be patient, then Allah will make him patient. There is no gift that is better and more comprehensive than patience."

The consequence of boasting — over any blessing — is loss.

Whether a person boasts about the blessing of knowledge, wealth, status, or anything else…

“He said to his companion while arguing with him: ‘I have more wealth than you and more supporters.’”
Sūrah al-Kahf (18:34)

And the final outcome:

“And his fruits were destroyed, so he began wringing his hands over what he had spent on it, as it had collapsed upon its trellises.”
Sūrah al-Kahf (18:42)
Sufyan path-Thawri (رحمه الله) said:

“It used to be said: ‘A time will come upon the people, when the hearts will die whilst the bodies will remain alive.”

-Hilyatul Awliya, 2/409.

Always remember that not all days are the same - "A DAY FOR YOU AND A DAY AGAINST YOU". So do not rejoice thinking that you will get away with your sins.

{If a wound has touched you, be sure a similar wound has touched the (opposing) people. And these days [of varying conditions - the good and not so good] We alternate among the people...}

Unrealistic Hopes

Abu al-'Āliyah (rahimahullah) — A Tabi’ee (a student of the Sahaba, (radiyAllahu ‘anhum), said:

There will come a time when people's chests will be empty of the Quran. They will find neither sweetness nor satisfaction with it.

If they do not live up to that which they were commanded to do they will say: "Indeed Allah is forgiving and merciful."

And if they do those things they were forbidden from they will say: "He will forgive us because we did not associate any partners with him”

Everything for them is based on avarice, not honesty.

[Imam Ahmed (rahimahullah), Kitab al-Zuhd, 1714]
“A believer is not bitten from the same hole twice.” Sahih Muslim

"Be cautious of deceptive friends a true believer learns, observes, and stays wise."

Al Imām Ibn al Qayyim (d. 751 h. رحمه الله) said:

“If people knew (the benefits of) reading the Qur'an with contemplation, they would busy themselves with it above everything else. When one reads with reflection and comes across an ayah that he needs for healing his heart, he should repeat it a hundred times or more, even if it takes all night. Reading a single ayah with contemplation and understanding is better than reading the whole Qur'an without contemplation and understanding.”

The Punishment for those rich who does not support his relatives

Rasool-Allah Sallallahu Alahih Wasallam said when a person go to his relative and ask for giving him property which is surplus with him and he refuses or becomes miser to give it to him, On the Day of resurrection a snake will brough out from the hell which is called Shuja, and it would be made to wear around his neck

Umar (May ALLAH be pleased with him) was known for his simple lifestyle he often wore patched clothes and lived humbly.
But when he became Khalifah, he ensured all citizens had access to food, water, and healthcare.

He said: “If a mule were to stumble on the road of Iraq, I fear Allah would ask me, ‘Why did you not pave the way for it, O Umar?’”

This shows that Islam expects leaders and communities to remove hardship from others, not glorify poverty.

Trust Allah: What is Tawakkul And How It Makes Your Life Easier 🤍🌿🕊️

Have you ever felt worried about something? Like when you have a test, or when you wait for good news, or when things don’t go as you plan? Maybe you stay up late thinking, “What if it’s bad?” or “How can I fix this?” and your mind feels full of fear worry. But do you know there is a way to feel calm, even when things are hard? It’s called TAWAKKUL (تَوَكُّل).

First, let’s learn what “tawakkul” means. Tawakkul is when you do your best for something, and then trust Allah to give you the best result. It’s not “do nothing and wait for Allah to fix everything.” No, that’s not Tawakkul. Tawakkul is “work hard, then let go of worry and trust Allah’s plan.” It’s like planting a seed: you dig the ground, put the seed in, water it every day (that’s your work), and then you trust the sun and rain (that’s Allah’s help) to make it grow. You can’t make the seed grow faster with your hands, but you can do your part, then trust.

Allah says in the Quran: "Allah is sufficient for me. There is no deity except Him. In Him I put my trust, and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne." (Surah At-Tawbah 9:129). This means Allah is the best one to take care of your problems. Allah knows everything — what you need, what is good for you, and when is the right time. So when you trust Him, you don’t have to carry all the worry alone. It’s like giving a heavy bag to someone strong who can hold it for you.

Let’s think of an example. Suppose you have a big test. What is tawakkul here? You study hard every day, read your books, ask your teacher questions, practice exercises (that’s your part). Then, on test day, you do your best to answer the questions. After that, you don’t spend all day worrying, “Did I pass? Did I make a mistake?” Instead, you say, “I did my best, now I trust Allah to give me the result that is good for me.” Even if you don’t pass, you trust that Allah has a better plan, maybe you need to study more...

Ibnul-Qayyim Rahimahullah said,

When a person spends his entire day with no other concern but Allaah alone, Allaah [subhaanahu wa ta’ala] will take care of all his needs and take care of all that is worrying him. He will empty his heart so that it will be filled only with love for Him, free his tongue so that it will speak only in remembrance of Him [dhikr], and cause all his faculties to work only in obedience to Him.

But when a person spends his entire day with no other concern but this world, Allaah will make him bear its distress, anxiety and pain. He will leave him to sort himself out, and cause his heart to be distracted from the love of Allaah towards the love of some created being. He will cause his tongue to speak only in remembering people instead of remembering Allaah. He will cause him to use his talents and energy in obeying and serving the people. This person will strive hard, laboring like some work-animal, to serve something other than Allaah.

Everyone who turns away from being a true slave of Allaah by obeying and loving Him, will be burdened with servitude to some created being. Allaah says in the Qur’an [interpretation of the meaning]:

And whosoever turns away [blinds himself] from the remembrance of the Most Beneficent, We appoint for him a shaytaan to be his Qareen [intimate companion]. (Sura al-Zukhruf, Ayah 36)

It was narrated that Anas [radi Allaahu anhu] said that the Prophet [sallal laahu alaihi wa sallam] said:

Whoever is mainly concerned about the Hereafter, Allaah will make him feel independent of others and will make him focused and content, and his worldly affairs will fall into place. But whoever is mainly concerned with this world, Allaah will make him feel in constant need of others and will make him distracted and unfocused, and he will get nothing of this world except what is decreed for him. (narrated by al-Tirmidhi, Hadith No. 2389)

“Allaah will grant, after hardship, ease”
~ Surat ut-Talaaq, 65:7

Shaykh Muhammad bin Saalih al-‘Uthaymeen (rahimahullaah) comments:

“Will this straitened (circumstance) remain? No. {Allaah will grant, after hardship, ease}. Just wait for the relief and be truthful with Allaah, and {Allaah will grant, after hardship, ease} and {Indeed with every hardship will be ease, indeed with every hardship will be ease}. This promise is only for the one who waits for the relief from Allaah and trusts in Allaah’s promise. But the person for whom Allaah makes (something) difficult, and he despairs of His Mercy and thinks that relief is unlikely – refuge is sought in Allaah – then the situation will not be made easy for this person.”

⚠️ Insincerity of Intention (Lack of Ikhlas in One’s Life in All Their Affairs)

Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah) said:

Insincere effort is like the traveller who fills his bag with sand, it just overburdens him for no good reason. If you have overburdened your heart with the grief and sorrows of this worldly life, neglecting prayers, which are the heart's provision and power, you would then be like a traveller who overloaded his riding animal, while depriving it of its food, so it would not be able to continue on its journey.
