Imām Ahmad b. Ḥanbāl said:
“If a man knows himself, the speech of people will not benefit him.”

The Prophet (sallAllaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) said:
'Ahead of you there lie days of patience, during which being patient will be like grasping a hot coal. The one who does good deeds then will have a reward like that of fifty men who do such deeds.’ They said: O Messenger of Allaah, the reward of fifty of them? He said: 'The reward of fifty of you.’
(Narrated by Abu Dawood (4341); at-Tirmidhi (3085), who said it is a hasan hadeeth. It was classed as 'saheeh’ by al-Albaani in al-Silsilah al-Saheehah [494]).

Benefits of Eemaan in Qadr
By Muhammad bin Salih al-Uthaymeen (d.1421 A.H.) -Rahimullaah-
Shaykh Muhammad bin Salih al-Uthaymeen said in ‘Sharh al-Aqeedah al-Wasiteeyah’:
‘Having Eemaan in Qadr has benefits, from them are:
1- Qadr is from the perfection of al-Eemaan, and al-Eemaan cannot be complete without it.
2- It is from the perfection of Eemaan in Ruboobeeyah (Allaah’s Lordship), because the Qadr of Allaah is from His Actions.
3- That a person returns all his matters to his Lord; because if he knows that everything is with Allaah’s Qada and His Qadr, then he will return to Allaah in repelling harm for the relief from it, and he will attribute prosperity to Allaah and he will know that this is from the excellence of Allaah upon him.
4- That a person knows his own worth, and he does not become proud when doing good.
5- That afflictions/problems become easier for Allaah’s slave; because if a person knows that it is from Allaah then his afflictions/problems is lessened. As Allaah Ta’ala said:
وَمَن يُؤۡمِنۢ بِٱللَّهِ يَهۡدِ قَلۡبَهُۥۚ
<< Whoever believes in Allaah then his heart is tranquil>> [Taghabun: 11]
6 – Ascribing blessings to the one who renders that blessing, this is because if you did not believe in Qadr you would ascribe blessings to the who takes care of giving those blessings, and this is present a lot amongst those who approach kings, leaders and ministers. If they receive from them what they want they say that the excellence was from them, and they forget the excellence of the Creator Subhanahu.
It is correct that it is obligatory upon a person to be thankful to the people, due to the statement of the Prophet -sallAllaahu alayhi wa salam:
ومن أتى إليكم معروفا ؛ فكافئوه
‘Whoever does a favour for you then compensate that person.’ [Saheehah no. 254 & Irwaa No. 1617], however it should be known that the foundation of all foundations is the excellence of Allaah – Azza wa Jal – which Allah placed at the hand of this man.
7 – So that a person can know the wisdom of Allaah – Azza wa Jal -. This is because when he looks into this universe and what occurs in it from amazing, brilliant changes, then he comes to know about the Wisdom of Allaah Azza wa Jal – and this is in contrast to the one who forgets al-Qada and al-Qadr then he does not get this benefit.

Shaykh Muḥammad ibn Ṣāilḥ al-ʿUthaymīn (رحمه الله) was asked: “I heard and read that if a Muslim dies on a Thursday night, or during the day on a Friday, he will have a good station [in Jannah]. What is your view on that? May Allāh reward you.”
The shaykh (رحمه الله) said:
The Ḥadīth which reported the merit of dying on a Friday is inauthentic, since an individual is rewarded based on his voluntary actions [i.e. actions he did out of his free will]. The death of an individual on a Friday is not by choice [i.e. is not of his free will]. If death came to him on a Thursday, he is incapable of delaying it until Friday. [Similarly,] he is incapable of expediting it to Friday, if it was written for him to die on a Saturday.
[Thus,] every Ḥadīth that mentioned the merit of dying on a particular day is inauthentic because recompense is based on the voluntary actions of the slave.

Abu Hurairah relates that the Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu'alaihi wa sallam) said, "There are no days more beloved to Allah for you to worship Him therein than the ten days of Dhul Hijjah. Fasting any day during it is equivalent to fasting one year and to offer salatul tahajjud (late-night prayer) during one of its nights is like performing the late night prayer on the night of power. Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه narrated that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “Leave me with what I have left to you, for those who were before you were destroyed because of excessive questioning, and their opposition to their Prophets. So when I command you to do anything, do it as much as it lies in your power and when I forbid you to do anything, then abandon it.” [Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (7288) and Saheeh Muslim (2388, 4355) and the wordings are from Saheeh Muslim]
Narrated Sahl ibn Sa
On the authority of Khaarijah bin Zaid that whenever someone asked Zaid bin Thaabit رضي الله عنه a question he would ask: “Did it already happen?” if the answer was in negative, he would say: “Leave it till it actually takes place.”
On the authority of al-Zuhree رحمه الله that it reached him that whenever someone asked Zaid bin Thaabit رضي الله عنه a question he would ask: “Did it already happen?” he if the answer was ‘yes’, he would narrated according to the knowledge he had. But if the answer was ‘no’, he would say: “Leave it till it actually takes place.”
On the authority of Masrooq that he asked a question from Ubai bin Ka`b رضي الله عنه . Ubai replied: “Did it take place?” I said: ‘No.” He said: “Leave us till it actually takes place. So when it does happen we would give our verdict to you.”

Aamir bin Sad reported on the authority of his father that Allaah’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “The greatest sinner amongst the Muslims is the one who asked about a thing (from Allaah’s Apostle) which had not been forbidden for the Muslims and it was forbidden for them because of his persistently asking about it.” [Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (7289) and Saheeh Muslim (5821, 5822)]
Amr bin Murrah said that Umar (Ibn al-Khattaab) رضي الله عنه said to the people: “I forbid you from asking questions about the things which did not take place, for we should busy ourselves with what already took place.”
On the authority of Nafi that Ibn Umar رضي الله عنهما said: “Do not ask about that which did not take place, for verily I heard Umar cursing the one who asked about the thing which did not happen.”On the authority of Khaarijah bin Zaid that whenever someone asked Zaid bin Thaabit رضي الله عنه a question he would ask: “Did it already happen?” if the answer was in negative, he would say: “Leave it till it actually takes place.”

Does Tying the Hair Come Under the Narration of the Camel Head – Shaykh Ibn Baz
Questioner:
Some women tie their hair at the back of the head. Does this come under what has been prohibited in the hadith of the Messenger […. and the women who would be dressed but appear to be naked, who would be inclined (to evil) and make their husbands incline towards it. Their heads would be like the humps of the bakht camel inclined to one side. They will not enter Paradise and they would not smell its odour whereas its odour would be smelt from such and such distance]?
Shaykh ʿAbd al-Azīz bin ʿAbdullah bin Bāz:
No. The hadith reads: “like the humps of camels inclined to one side”, meaning they gather things on top their heads in order to enlarge them. As for this tying of the hair, it does not come under the same ruling that the Messenger said. However, in the prayer they should untie it and let it loose [under their hijab] As for what has been reported in the hadith, “like the humps of camels inclined to one side”, this means that they gather things on the head such as cloth such that it appears like the humps of camels inclined to one side. The humps of the bakht camels look like two humps with something in between them.

The humps of the bakht camels look like two humps with something in between them.
