Between Hot and Cold:

🌟USING COLD WATER FOR DRINKING AND AS CURE🌟

As a cure to Ayyoob’s عليه السلام sickness, Allaah تعالى said to him:

❝{“Strike the ground with your foot: This is a spring of water to wash in, cool and a (refreshing) drink.”}❞
📚 [Surah al-Saad (38): 41]

💢💢💢

The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said:
❝Fever is from the (intense) heat of the Hell-Fire, so cool it with water.❞
📚 [Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (3261, 3262, 3263, 3264, 5723, 5724, 5725, 5726) and Saheeh Muslim (5476, 5477, 5478, 5479, 5480, 5482, 5484, 5485)]

💥 [As Ibn al-Qayyim said, this is particularly for the fever which is caused due to sunstroke]

🌴🌴🌴

🌟PREFERABLE NOT TO EAT WHILE THE FOOD IS INTENSELY HOT🌟

It has been authentically reported from Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه that he said: ❝One should not eat the food until its steam goes away.❞
📚 [Sunan al-Baihaqee and graded as “Saheeh” by Shaikh al-Albaanee in al-Saheehah (1/748)]

💢💢💢

Whenever Asmaa’ bint Abu Bakr رضي الله عنها prepared food, she used to cover it with something till its boil went away (and it had cooled down a bit), and she used to say: I heard the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم saying: ❝It is for greater blessing.❞
📚 [Saheeh Ibn Hibaan and Mustadrak of al-Haakim and graded as “Saheeh” by Shaikh al-Albaanee in al-Saheehah (392, 659)]

💥[One can eat hot food after the steam has stopped coming out]

🌴🌴🌴

🌟PREFERABLE TO DELAY THE DHUHR SALAAH WHEN IT IS INTENSELY HOT🌟

The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said:
❝Refrain from praying (Dhuhr - the noon prayer) till the extreme heat passes away, for the Intensity of heat is from the exhalation of Hell.❞
📚 [Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (533, 535, 536, 538, 539, 629, 3258, 3259) and Saheeh Muslim (1282, 1284, 1285, 1287, 1288, 1289, 1290, 1291)]

💥[This will be applied only when a person is praying outside where there is no shade and making Sujood on the ground becomes difficult. But our Masaajid now are fully ventilated and have rugs/carpets which protect us from the heat.]

Which life to Pursue?

It is reported that Al-Hasan Al-Basrî often used to say,

“O youth! Seek the hereafter, for we often see people pursuing the hereafter and finding it as well as the dunyâ (worldly wellbeing), but we have never seen anyone pursue the dunyâ and gain the hereafter as well as the dunyâ.”

[Al-Bayhaqî, Al-Zuhd Al-Kabîr, article 12. | https://www.sayingsofthesalaf.net/which-life/]
"Do you think you'll enter the same Jannah of Bilal, Abu Bakr, Khalid, Umar, Hafsa and Sumayyah without doing the work they did? Do you think just because i took my shahadah & i was born into Islam i'm granted a free shuttle pass into Firdaws without some sleepless nights of worship?
Shaykh ibn Baz: When the need (you have) is delayed (from being fulfilled), don’t blame your Lord.

Don’t say: Why, why (haven’t you answered my du’a) my Lord?!

Rather, it’s upon you to return back to yourself and take account of yourself, for indeed your Lord is All-Wise and All-Knowing.

Therefore, return back to yourself and look. Perhaps you have something with you from the sins and the acts of disobedience which is the reason for the delay in the answer (for your du’a).

*► PROPHET MUHAMMAD (ﷺ) said:*

1) Whoever makes the Hereafter his goal, Allah makes his heart rich, and organizes his affairs, and the world comes to him whether it want to or not.
2) And whoever makes the world his goal, Allah puts his poverty right before his eyes, and disorganizes his affairs, and the world does not come to him, except what has been decreed for him.

Advices of Abu ad-Dardā.

A man came to Abu ad-Dardā saying:

O Abu ad-Dardā, advise me. He responded, “Remember Allaah in times of ease and He will remember you in times of hardship. And if you remember the deceased, then place yourself among them, and if you value something from this worldly life, look at what it will become.”

Fear Allāh Where Ever You May Be

When the Prophet (ﷺ) sent Mu'ādh (raḍiyAllāh 'anhu) to Yemen, he advised him as follows: "Mu'ādh, fear Allāh where ever you may be. Follow a bad deed with a good one and it erases it, and treat the people in a fine manner."

BEING A GOOD EXAMPLE

It is obligatory upon the people of faith in general, and upon the students of knowledge from the callers, advisers, exhorters, and those who are responsible for the religious affairs specifically, to be a good example for the people when incidents occur and the affairs have become disordered.

Al-Muṭṭalib reported that Umm Salamah narrated: On an occasion Abū Salamah came back after he was with Allāh’s Messenger ﷺ and said, “I heard Allāh’s Messenger recite a statement that made me delighted.”

He said, “No Muslim is struck with an affliction and then says istirja’ (saying: “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajiʿūn” [from Allāh we come and to Him we will return]) when the affliction strikes, and then he says, ‘O Allāh! reward me for my loss and give me what is better than it’, except that Allāh will do that for him.”

Umm Salamah said: So I memorized these words. When Abū Salamah died I said istirja’ and said: “O Allāh, compensate me for my loss and give me what is better than it.”

I then thought about it and said, “Who is better than Abū Salamah?”

When my ʿiddah finished, Allāh’s Messenger ﷺ asked for permission to see me while I was dyeing a skin that I had. I washed my hands, gave him permission to enter and handed him a pillow, and he sat on it. He then asked me for marriage and when he finished his speech.

I said, “O Messenger of Allāh! It is not that I do not want you, but I am very jealous and I fear that you might experience some wrong mannerism from me for which Allāh would punish me. And I am old and have ʿiyāl (children).”

He (ﷺ) then said, “As for the jealousy that you mentioned, Allāh the Exalted will remove it from you. As for being old as you mentioned, I have suffered what you have suffered. And as for what what you mentioned of having children, then verily your children are my children.”

She said, “I have submitted to Allāh’s Messenger.”

Allāh’s Messenger married her.

And Umm Salamah said later, “Allāh compensated me for Abū Salamah with someone better than him: the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ.”

Like The Body

On the authority of An-Nu’maan Bin Basheer in a narration ascribed to the Prophet [ﷺ]:

❝The example of the believers in their affection, mercy and compassion for each other is like the body: if a limb of it complains due to an illness, it affects the rest of the body with sleeplessness and fever.❞

[Silsilah Ahadeeth As-Saheehah of Shaykh Al-Albaani, (No. 1083) | Translated By Abbas Abu Yahya Miraath al-Anbiyya]
The Messenger of Allāh Ṣallallāhu-‘Alaihi Wa Sallam said:

“Whoever makes all of his concerns focus on one thing — the concern of HEREAFTER — then Allāh will suffice him for the rest of his concerns and whoever has all of his concerns branching off from the affairs of the WORLD then Allāh DOES NOT care which valley of it he dies in.”

Allaah تعالى said in His Noble Book:

Know Your Worth O Youth

Al-Baihaqee recorded in al-Madkhal ilas-Sunanil-Kubraa (no.679):

“Abu ‘Aasim said:
A youth from the people of knowledge was present the gathering of Sufyaan Ath-Thawree (d. 161H); so the youth put himself forward at the head of the gathering, and started talking and boasting with his knowledge in front of those who were older than him.

So Sufyaan (rahimahullaah) became angry, and said:

“The Salaf were not like this! One of them would not claim leadership for himself and he would not sit in the forefront of the gathering until he had sought knowledge for thirty years! And you display arrogance in front of one who is older than you. Get up from me and don’t come near my gathering.”

And Sufyan al-Thawree (died 161H) said:

“If you see a youth speaking in the presence of Mashaayikh; even if he has acquired a portion of knowledge, then lose hope in his goodness, for verily he has no shame.”

Ibn Abee Dunyaa in As-Samt wa Aadaabul-Lisaan (586,588), and Al-Khateeb al-Baghdaadee in Al-Faqeeh wal-Mutafaqqih (2/275) that Ibraheem Al-Ad-ham said:

“If a youngster (or new comer) speaks in front of us in our gathering, then we lose hope in him.”

Ar-Raamaharmuzee (rahimahullaah) reported that Makhlad Ibn Husain said:

“We are more in need of a great portion of manners than a small amount of ‘Ilm.”

📌Pleasure of Allāh vs. Anger of the people

🎙The Messenger of Allāh [ﷺ] said:

💠Whoever seeks the Pleasure of Allāh while angering the people will have Allāh pleased with him, who shall make the people pleased with him [anyway].

💠Whoever seeks to please the people while angering Allāh will have Allāh angry with him, who shall make the people angry with him [anyway].
