Imām ibn ul-Qayyim [may Allāh have mercy on him] said:

“Suplication is the most beneficial of remedies, it is an enemy against trials and tribulations, it wards it off and treats it, it prevents it from descending, it relieves and alleviates it if it does descend. Supplication is the weapon of the Believer.”

Their masjids will be full of people (well built) but will be empty of guidance. Their scholars will be the most evil under the heavens; from them turmoil (fitnah) will emanate and to them it will return.”

*Be Patient Against Abuse*

Prophet Muḥammad Ṣallallāhu-'Alaihi Wa Sallam said:

Having very little & Poverty

Translated by Abbas Abu Yahya

'From Abu Hurairah that the Prophet sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam used to say:
” اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْقِلَّةِ، وَالْفَقْرِ وَالذِّلَّةِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَظْلِمَ أَوْ أُظْلَمَ “.
‘O Allaah indeed I seek refuge with You from having very little, poverty, humiliation and I seek refuge with You that I oppress or be oppressed.’

Ibn Taymiyyah’s Attitude Upon Entering Prison

It was related that when Ibn Taymiyyah was being transported by the ruler’s representative to prison in Alexandria, a bystander saw him and said: “My master, this is the time for patience.”

So, Ibn Taymiyyah looked at him and replied: “Rather, this is the time to be thankful. By Allah, such joy and happiness are descending upon my heart at this moment that if it was divided between the people of Sham and Egypt, there would be some left over, and if I had that amount in gold and distributed it, it would not equal even a tenth of the blessing that I am experiencing.”

Later on, on Monday the 6th of the month of Sha’ban 726 AH, he was again arrested on orders from the ruler, and was ordered transferred to the Citadel Prison in Damascus. When he first learned of this, he said: “I was waiting for this, and this contains great benefit.” When he was later in the prison, he said: “If this prison was exchanged for its weight in gold, I would not consider this to be enough to repay this blessing I am in and the good that it has brought me.”

When he entered the grounds of the Citadel Prison in Damascus, he stood and looked at its walls, reciting the verse: “…So a wall will be put up between them with a gate therein. Inside it will be mercy, and from the outside, it will be torment.” [al-Hadid; 13]

The Muslim Must Know The Evil So He Can Avoid Them

The people used to ask the Messenger of Allāh about the good, but I used to ask him about the evil for fear of it overtaking me.²⁴⁹

🥀 Power of a Supplication in a distressed state 🥀

🎓Shaykh Muhammad ibn Saleh Al-Uthaimeen رحمه الله

If a person takes refuge with his Lord in a distressed state then Allaah will respond to his supplication.

As Allaah Subhaanahu wa Ta'ala says in the Qur'aan :

أَمَّنْ يُجِيبُ الْمُضطَرَّ إِذَا دَعَاهُ...

Is not He (better than your gods) Who responds to the distressed one, when he calls Him... (An-Naml 27:62)

Indeed Allaah answers the supplication of the distressed one even if he may be a disbeliever.

📚: Sahih Bukhari 3292

In an another hadith He (ﷺ) mentioned in the end of the hadith,

▪️ DO NOT TELL ANYONE ABOUT YOUR BAD DREAM

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:

"If anyone of you sees a dream that he likes, then it is from Allah, and he should thank Allah for it and narrate it to others; but if he sees something else, i.e., a dream that he dislikes, then it is from Satan, and he should seek refuge with Allah from its evil, and he should not mention it to anybody, for it will not harm him."

📌 *Knowing truth & falsehood*

Shaykh Sāliḥ al-Fawzān حفظه الله said:

"It is not sufficient for a person to only know the truth; rather, it is must that a person knows the truth and knows falsehood. A person should know the truth so he can act upon it. And the person should know falsehood so he can stay away from it. If a person does not know falsehood, he will fall into it and he will not know it."

📚 *Silsilah sharh rasa'il imam p.26*

If Allāh forsakes you, then the people cannot help you.”
