The Muslim Must Know The Evil So He Can Avoid Them
The people used to ask the Messenger of Allāh about the good, but I used to ask him about the evil for fear of it overtaking me.²⁴⁹

🥀 Power of a Supplication in a distressed state 🥀
🎓Shaykh Muhammad ibn Saleh Al-Uthaimeen
If a person takes refuge with his Lord in a distressed state then Allaah will respond to his supplication.
As Allaah Subhaanahu wa Ta'ala says in the Qur'aan :
أَمَّنْ يُجِيبُ الْمُضطَرَّ إِذَا دَعَاهُ...
Is not He (better than your gods) Who responds to the distressed one, when he calls Him... (An-Naml 27:62)
Indeed Allaah answers the supplication of the distressed one even if he may be a disbeliever.

▪️TYPES OF DREAMS
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) also said:

________
▪️ WHEN YOU SEE A BAD DREAM
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:
"A good dream is from Allah, and a bad or evil dream is from Satan; so if anyone of you has a bad dream of which he gets afraid, he should spit on his left side and should seek Refuge with Allah from its evil (by saying Aaozubillahi minash shaitaanir rajeem), for then it will not harm him."
📚: Sahih Bukhari 3292
In an another hadith He (ﷺ) mentioned in the end of the hadith,
"...let him spit dryly to his left three times, and seek refuge with Allah from the accursed Satan three times, and turn over onto his other side."
📚: Ibn Majah 3909 | Sahih
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) also said:
"If any one of you sees something that he dislikes (in a dream), let him get up and pray, and not tell people about it."

▪️ DO NOT TELL ANYONE ABOUT YOUR BAD DREAM
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:
"If anyone of you sees a dream that he likes, then it is from Allah, and he should thank Allah for it and narrate it to others; but if he sees something else, i.e., a dream that he dislikes, then it is from Satan, and he should seek refuge with Allah from its evil, and he should not mention it to anybody, for it will not harm him."

(VERY SCARY AYAT)
When Allaah intends destruction for a nation, He تعالى makes the path of evil easy upon its people:
وَإِذَا أَرَدْنَا أَن نُّهْلِكَ قَرْيَةً أَمَرْنَا مُتْرَفِيهَا فَفَسَقُوا فِيهَا فَحَقَّ عَلَيْهَا الْقَوْلُ فَدَمَّرْنَاهَا تَدْمِيرًا
❝{And when We decide to destroy a town (population), We (first) send a definite order (to obey Allaah and be righteous) to those among them [or We (first) increase in number those of its population] who are given the good things of this life. Then, they transgress therein, and thus the word (of torment) is justified against it (them). Then We destroy it with complete destruction.}❞

Why are people blaming 2020 for things? This is a practice of jahiliyyah, pre-Islamic ignorance.
Allah says in a Hadith Qudsi, "The children of Adam blaspheme me by cursing time, whereas I am the time (i.e. the owner of it). All things are in My Hands, I turn the night and day."
(Bukhari and Muslim)
The people of pre Islamic ignorance (jahiliyyah) used to say,
"قبح الله الدهر الذي شتت شملنا"
May Allah ruin the time (could be understood as year) that disunited us.
"لعن الله الزمان الذي جرى فيه كذا وكذا"
May Allah curse the time in which so-and-so happened.
Blaming 2020 or any year for the misfortunes or tragedies that take place implies one of three things:
1) The year is somehow responsible for what's happening in it.
2) The year is a bad omen.
3) It's blasphemous to God as He is the one who runs all affairs.
All three are unacceptable and unbecoming.
Instead, as believers we say,
"Say, ‘Only what God has decreed will happen to us. He is our Master: let the believers put their trust in God.’" (9:51)

From Abdullaah who said that the Messenger of Allaah –sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam– said:
‘Verily Allaah has distributed your manners between yourselves just like He distributed your provisions between yourselves.
Allaah gives the Duniya (world) to the one He loves and the one whom He does not love, but He does not give Eemaan (faith) except to the one whom He loves.
Whosoever is too miserly with his wealth to spend it, and is too fearful to fight the enemy, and is too weak to stand the night in prayer, then he should say ‘SubhanAllaah, wal-Hamdulillaah, wa la illah ill Allaah, wa Allaahu Akbar.’ a lot.

‘Verily Allaah has distributed your manners between yourselves just like He distributed your provisions between yourselves.
Allaah gives the Duniya (world) to the one He loves and the one whom He does not love, but He does not give Eemaan (faith) except to the one whom He loves.

*Console The Broken Heart*
Shaykh Muḥammad Ibn Ṣāliḥ al-‘Uthaymīn رحمه الله stated: “From lofty manners and praiseworthy qualities is that when you find a person broken hearted, either due to losing something beloved or any other reason, you make him happy, cheerful and lighten his tribulation by reminding him of that which is more severe. For example, if some of his wealth was destroyed, you remind him that there are people who have lost their entire wealth.
If he was afflicted with a sickness in his eye, remind him that some people have lost their eyesight and are blind. This is so that it alleviates (the sadness) of his situation and included in this, is offering condolences to the one who has lost a loved one.”

The Man who Killed 100 People vis-à-vis a Man of Knowledge
We all know the famous narration about that man from the Children of Israel who killed 99 people. This man went to get advice about repenting from his crimes from a man who was known to be an avid worshiper of Allaah.
The worshiper, who was so deep in his worship, could not fathom how Allaah would forgive such a mass murder, so he answered the killer of 99 people by telling him that there is no repentance for him. So the man, being used to killing, and getting such an answer, killed the avid worshiper to make the number 100.
Lessons so far:
1. Giving a verdict without knowledge can go as far as causing loss of life, not just ruining families or loss or religion, among others.
2. The man's devoutness to worshiping Allaah is not enough for him to give verdicts. Without knowledge, worship is not as valuable. Worshiping Allaah should be done with knowledge and proper insight.
3. One's acts of worship should not cause him to doubt that Allaah will forgive even the worst of sins. He should not let his acts of worship blind him to the fact that Allaah forgives any sin as long as one is alive, and any sin except Shirk if one dies with other sins, even major ones.
Moving on...
The killer of 100 went to a man of knowledge and asked him the same question about repentance. The man of knowledge told him that nobody is standing between him and his repentance to Allaah, and that he must migrate and abandon the bad town in which he was living and move to a good town instead.
More lessons:
4. One who is looking to change his life around should abandon evil places and evil people. The overall environment and the people have a major impact on an individual.
5. The man with knowledge gave the correct advice, indeed, it is not surprising to assume that the man of knowledge was also an avid worshiper of Allaah, and even if he was not as avid as the one without knowledge, the man of knowledge still has more fear of Allaah because he has that knowledge.
Moving on...
On the way, the killer of 100 died, and the angels of mercy disputed with the angels of torment about who should take his soul. Allaah sent an angel to settle the dispute and told them to measure the distance which the man travelled before dying, and that if he was closer to the good town, that the angels of mercy would take his soul. Allaah caused the landscape to change so that the distance between the man and the good town is shorter.
Final lessons:
6. Allaah will make a way out for you if your sincere, no matter how evil you think you are, no matter what evil actions you have done, if you feel really bad about those deeds and feel a darkness in your heart, that is because your heart had light in it to begin with, otherwise, you would not have such a great feeling of sorrow for your bad deeds. No matter how great are your evil deeds, Allaah is greater and will forgive you.
7. Never give up hope in Allaah's mercy and forgiveness.
May Allaah grant us wisdom and insight and keep us steadfast on His straight path.

Umm ar-Rubayyi’ bin Khuthaim was very worried about her son.
She rarely saw him sleep, for after the toils of the day, he would spend his nights worshipping Allaah.
"My son, will you not sleep?" Umm ar-Rubayyi’ pleaded with him one day.
"My mother, when it is night time, and when one fears that sudden death will overtake him (and this is the case for every human being), then it is befitting for him not to sleep."
Umm ar-Rubayyi’ soon became afraid when she noticed that her son cried a lot during the night. She feared that his tears were prompted by feelings of guilt for some wicked crime he committed.
"O my son," she said, "Perhaps you have killed someone?"
"Yes," he answered.
"Who is he?" she asked. "We will go to his family, and (hopefully) they will forgive you; surely they will pity you when they find out how much you cry every night."
"My mother, it is my own self [that I have killed through constant sinning (i.e. I have subjected to destruction and punishment in the Hereafter)]."
