The Messenger of Allāh صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ said:
“Do you know who the bankrupt one is?’
‘Indeed, the bankrupt one from amongst my Nation will come on the Day of Resurrection with prayer, fasting and Zakāh [alms], but he comes along having abused this one, slandered that one, unlawfully taken the wealth of this one, shed the blood of that one, and beaten that one. Therefore this one will be given from his good deeds, and that one will be given from his good deeds. His good deeds will finish before the judgment is imposed upon him, some of their sins [i.e. the people he has wronged] will be taken and placed onto him [his account], then he will be casted into the Fire!’”

The Enjoyment Of The Salaf Compared To The Enjoyment Of Our Time
Al-Imaam Ibnul-Qayyim, may Allaah have mercy upon him:
"The early generations found enjoyment in matters pertaining to Allaah, Exalted be He, such as praying, reciting the Quraan, contemplating on the Words of Allaah, and listening to them, attending the assemblies of scholars and the gatherings of knowledge, fighting in battles for the sake of Allaah, enjoining the good and forbidding wrongdoing, loving and despising people for the sake of Allaah, etc.
However, the preferences of the later generations, except those whom Allaah saved, became distorted and they sought enjoyment in musical instruments, songs, dancing, noise, and clamour, while desisting from doing deeds that Allaah loves. Indeed, the experience and enjoyment attained from melodies is nothing like the experience and enjoyment attained from the Quraan."

◽Extravagance in food and drink during Ramadan
◽What is your opinion on those who make many kinds of foods and sweets during Ramadan?.
Praise be to Allah.
◽Extravagance in all things is something that is blameworthy and is not allowed, especially in food and drink. Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“and eat and drink but waste not by extravagance, certainly He (Allah) likes not Al-Musrifoon (those who waste by extravagance)”
[al-A’raaf 7:31]
◽And the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The son of Adam does not fill any vessel worse than his stomach; for the son of Adam a few mouthfuls are sufficient to keep his back straight. If you must fill it, then one-third for food, one-third for drink and one-third for air.” Narrated by al-Tirmidhi,1381; Ibn Maajah, 3349. Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi, 1939).
Extravagance in food and drink includes many evils:
◽The more a person enjoys the good things of this world, the less will be he share in the Hereafter.
Al-Haakim narrated that Abu Juhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The more people eat their fill in this world, the more hungry they will be on the Day of Resurrection.”
◽Narrated by Ibn Abi’l-Dunya, who added that Abu Juhayfah never filled his stomach until he departed this life.
Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in al-Silsilah al_Saheehah 342
◽He used to eat enough to keep him going, but no so much as to make him fat. Ibn ‘Umar narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The believer eats in one stomach whilst the kaafir eats in seven.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari (5081) and Muslim (2060).
◽‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: By Allah, if I wanted I could wear the finest clothes among you, and eat the best food, and have the most luxurious life. But I heard that Allah will condemned people for someo f their actions and said (interpretation of the meaning):
◽“You received your good things in the life of the world, and you took your pleasure therein. Now this Day you shall be recompensed with a torment of humiliation, because you were arrogant in the land without a right, and because you used to rebel against Allah’s Command (disobey Allah)”
[al-Ahqaaf 46:20]
◽That distracts a person from many deeds of obedience and worship, such as reading Qur’aan, which is what the Muslim should focus on during this blessed month, as was the practice of the Salaf.
◽But women end up spending a large part of the day on preparing food, and a large part of the night on preparing sweets and drinks.
◽If a person eats too much he becomes lazy and sleeps a great deal, so he wastes a lot of his time.
Sufyaan al-Thawri (may Allah have mercy on his) said: If you want your body to be healthy and to sleep less, then eat less.
◽Eating too much also makes the heart heedless.
◽It was said to Imam Ahmad (may Allah have mercy on him): Does a man find any softness and humility in his heart when he is full? He said, I do not think so.
And Allah knows best.

Some benefits related to Riyā’ (showing off):
Imām al-Ājurrī (Died 360AH) states in “Akhlāq Ahlul-Qur’ān” (page 161);
“It’s important for the one whom Allāh has provided with a beautiful voice when reciting the Qur’ān to know that Allāh has specified him with a huge blessing, so let him keep in mind the importance of what Allāh has specificied him with, in order to recite for Allāh’s sake, not for the sake of people.
And let him beware of inclining towards causing people to listening to him, to receive some benefit among the listeners, for the sake of going after this world and wanting nice praises and positions from the sons of this world, whilst also performing Salāh for the kings instead of leading the people in prayer.
So whoever’s soul has inclined towards what I have warned him against, I fear his beautiful voice would be a fitnah (trial) for him. Since a beautiful voice only benefits him if he fears Allāh in private and public, while his intention is for people to listen to the Qur’ān so the heedless may pay attention, in order to strive in attaining what Allāh wants from them, and to abstain from what Allāh forbade them from doing.
Whoever emulates this has benefitted from his beautiful voice, and the people have benefitted from him as well.”
A misconception some Muslims may have is whether it’s riyā’ to do more good deeds in the presence of someone else which you wouldn’t normally do if you’re alone. Imām Ibn Muflih al-Hanbalī in “Al-Furū’” cites a narration from Imām Ahmad that he was asked this question and Imām Ahmad replied; This is the barakah (blessing) of a Muslim, i.e., not riyā’.
Also, Imām al-Ghazālī states that it’s not considered harām to show off in worldly matters, which are not associated with worship. For example, trying to show a boss at work your potential for a good position or pay rise etc…

If you look into people, you find them in 4 categories:
.
1. Obedient to Allah and happy with their life.
2. Obedient to Allah but unhappy with their life.
3. Disobedient to Allah but happy with their life.
4. Disobedient to Allah and unhappy with their life.
.
Falling in category 1 is normal because Allah says
● ❝Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer – We will surely cause him to live a good life, and We will surely give them their reward [in the Hereafter] according to the best of what they used to do.❞
(Al Nahl 97)
.
Falling in category 4 is also normal because Allah says
● ❝And whoever turns away from My remembrance – indeed, he will have a depressed life, and We will gather him on the Day of Resurrection blind.❞
(Taha 124)
.
However falling in category 2 may be the result of either of two things:
1) That Allah loves you and therefore is testing your patience to increase your rewards; this is because He says:
● ❝And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient,❞
(Al Baqarah 155)
2) Or that there are errors in your worship, sins that you commit unknowingly or sins that you aren't repenting from.
Hence Allah is testing you to make you realize your mistake, as He says:
● ❝And we will surely let them taste the nearer punishment short of the greater punishment that perhaps they will repent.❞
(As Sajdah 21)
.
However, falling in category 3 should be a red warning to one's foot slipping downwards.
This is the worst position for one to find themselves in because it results in grave punishments. As Allah says:
● ❝So when they forgot that by which they had been reminded, We opened to them the doors of every [good] thing until, when they rejoiced in that which they were given, We seized them suddenly, and they were [then] in despair.❞
(Al Ana'am 44)
.
.
❝And remind, for indeed, the reminder benefits the believers.❞
(Az Zariyat 55)

SEEK HELP FROM ALLĀH ...
When the Prophet (ﷺ), asks something from Allāh, or guides his community to ask specific thing from Allāh, he is exhorting them with seeking help from Allāh, and having hope in His favour, at the same time they have to work hard and earnestly for the accomplishment of what they asked to be removed from them.
Therefore making du'ā' should go side by side with action. So the slave strives for what will benefit him in his religion and his worldly life, and he asks his Lord to make him accomplish his need, and he seeks His help in that.

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: The cattle (sheep, cows, camels, etc.) suffering from a disease should not be mixed up with healthy cattle, (or said: "Do not put a patient with a healthy person ). " (as a precaution).

📖Allaah Will Make Things Easy For This Person
It is reported from Abuu Hurayrah, may Allaah be pleased with him, that the Prophet ﷺ said:
"...and whoever gives relief to one who is hard-pressed, Allaah will make things easy for him in this life and the Hereafter..."
[Saheeh Al-Jaami', Hadeeth No. 6614]

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:
“The heart, in its journey to Allāh, Majestic is He, is like that of a bird: love is its head, and fear and hope are its two wings.
When the head and two wings are sound, the bird flies gracefully. If the head is severed, the bird dies… if the bird loses one of its wings, it then becomes a target for every hunter or predator.”
[Madarīj as-Salikeen | 1/390]

A rat 🐀 noticed a mouse-trap inside the house and asked the chicken, sheep and cow for help to get rid of it.
They all said: “the mouse-trap is the rats problem, it has nothing to do with us!.”
One day, a snake’s tail got caught in the mouse trap and as the homeowner’s wife was walking next to it, she got bitten by the snake!! 🐍
The homeowner killed the chicken 🐓 to make her chicken soup, he then killed the sheep 🐑 to feed the visitors who came to visit his sick wife and finally he killed the cow 🐄 to feed the people visiting her funeral because she died.
Moral of the story: when people come to you with problems seeking your help, help them as much as you can.

If you place this dunya under the lenses of death, you'll realize that' it's only the worship of Allāh that makes sense.
