A fully funded, one-year postdoc position is available in Mohamed Ahmed’s Transportation Lab (https://lnkd.in/gEC-G-kZ) in the Civil and Architectural Engineering and Construction Management Department at the University of Cincinnati. The research will be on areas of Connected and Automated Vehicles, Microsimulation, experimental and quasi-experimental behavioral studies, Big Data Analytics, Advanced Statistical Modeling of Traffic Safety Data, Human Factors, and Naturalistic Driving Studies. The position is available immediately and it will be open until filled. The main goal of the subproject the candidate will be involved in is to develop and exploit methods for autonomous controller tuning, adaptation and reconfiguration, and performance optimization using data-enriched models. Envisioned specific tasks within the subproject are: the development of data-driven learning (supervisory) control techniques, their possible extension to large-scale distributed settings and their proof-of-concept application to the use case of an industrial partner.

- a PhD degree from a well-recognized university;
- an inclination for rigorous mathematical investigation with a solid background in control theory and in one or more of the following: machine learning, system identification, optimization.
