The National Theatre Sarajevo (Narodno pozorište Sarajevo) is the most prominent theater in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was founded in 1921 and is located in the heart of Sarajevo. The building was designed by the famous architect Karel Pařík, who also designed many other significant structures in the city. 🇧🇦

📜 The First Islamic Epigraphy in Bosnia and Herzegovina 🇧🇦

The earliest Islamic epigraphy in Bosnia seamlessly transitioned from stećci to nišans, preserving medieval literacy and art. These early nišans closely resembled upright stećci, featuring carved figures of humans, deer, horses, birds, swords, bows, flags, and rosettes. The innoscriptions, written in bosančica, mirrored those found on stećci, proving the deep cultural continuity.

The first nišans (15th-17th c.) stood alongside stećci, blending local traditions with Islamic influences. Their existence reminds us that cultures do not erase each other but evolve together.
