🇺🇸🆘📝 Movement towards invoking the Insurrection Act signals an extreme crisis in the United States - Analysis

Over the last few days, we’ve seen a Constitutional Crisis break out within the United States that lacks any sort of recent precedent (Not even the Texas 2024 Stand Off was this rhetorically heated). While the protest movement remains largely confined to Los Angeles and violence below 2020 levels, it is in the political dimension this crisis has truly emerged. Unlike in 2020 and for the first time since the events at Selma in 1965, the Federal Government invoked Title 10 to Federalize the National Guard of a State against its wishes. This has since escalated to a heated war of words, with both State and Federal officials directly raising the specter of civil war while the President and members of his administration have raised the prospect of arresting the Governor of the largest State in the Union. To the best of our knowledge here at Intel Slava, this is the first this has been threatened since the American Civil War.

With the news being reported that U.S. Federal authorities are now considering the possible invocation of the Insurrection Act-for the first time since 1992 and the first time since the Civil Rights Era against the wishes of a State-the United States now stands on the edge of an unknown abyss. Regardless of your personal opinions on the matter, objectively such a move will be incredibly escalatory amid an already heated State vs Federal showdown. Both sides have already raised the prospect of civil war as stated and having the U.S. Military conduct direct policing authority presents a very real prospect of igniting something that can quickly spiral out of control.
