Russia introduces a tourist tax for infrastructure development
✍️ Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law to introduce a tourist tax starting from 2025. The new tax will replace the existing resort fee.
📌 The tourist tax will be a local tax, and municipalities will independently decide on the need for its introduction and set the rates. The tax will be paid into the budget at the location of the hotels.
🔝 The tax rate will gradually increase:
✅ 1% of the accommodation cost in 2025
✅ 2% in 2026
✅ 3% in 2027
✅ 4% in 2028
✅ 5% from 2029
The tax will not exceed 5%.
🛡 Some categories of citizens will be exempt from paying the tax, including participants in special military operations.
🇷🇺 According to the First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy, Nadezhda Shkolkin, the introduction of the tourist tax was expected for the industry. She noted that the resort fee has demonstrated its effectiveness and benefits for infrastructure development.
📈 It is expected that the tourist tax will help municipalities increase revenues and direct them towards developing tourist infrastructure and improving territories.

📆 Since 2007, this museum has been the site for celebrating Ysyakh in the capital. Each year, it attracts an increasing number of guests. In 2023, a record number of Muscovites and tourists—more than 26,000 people—took part in the holiday.
🎭 A diverse and extensive program has been prepared for both adults and children. More than 10 venues will be operating on a 3000 square meter area.
⁉️ Ysyakh is a unique spiritual treasure of the Sakha people. It is an ancient ceremonial holiday symbolizing the arrival of summer, the awakening of nature, and bringing prosperity to all its participants.
👨👩👧👦 In 2024, the holiday is dedicated to the Year of the Family in the Russian Federation and the Year of Childhood in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). It will continue the age-old tradition of uniting the peoples of our country.
