The Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation expects to double the trade turnover with African countries by 2030.

"Over the past five years, the share of African countries in our total trade turnover has increased from 2.5% to 3.5%. Currently, this is not a significant amount. In absolute terms, it was around $24.5 billion last year. However, according to our forecasts, by 2030, this trade turnover could reach between $50 billion and $60 billion, depending on the scenarios that unfold," said Vladimir Ilyichev, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.

🛡Ilyichev emphasized that Russia is systematically strengthening trade ties with African and Middle Eastern regions. To achieve this, the country is assisting Russian businesses in entering new markets and working on improving conditions for foreign economic activities.

🇷🇺🤝🇮🇷In particular, Russia is signing free trade agreements. Last year, such an agreement was signed with Iran. Negotiations with Egypt and the UAE are in the final stages, and agreements with Algeria, Morocco, and Tunisia are being worked on. Russia is also currently negotiating with the UAE.

📈According to Ilyichev, these agreements will not only increase mutual flows of services and investments but also enhance the effects of trade liberalization through additional preferences in the transportation, logistics, insurance, technical servicing, and settlement of transactions.

In Russia, as part of the presidential program, over 1,200 schools have been built, and 4,122 have been renovated since 2019.

"1,236 schools and 1,680 kindergartens have been constructed, and 4,122 buildings have undergone major renovations. This year, an additional 1,057 schools are planned to be repaired using funds from the federal budget, as per the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation," said Yakushev.

🛰 The technology of controlling a drone via satellite was first implemented in Russia. The experiment was conducted by the "Gonets" satellite system and the company "Geoscan," as reported by Roscosmos.

✈️ During the experiment, the drone completed six flights, during which data on its location was successfully transmitted via satellite, along with 218 telemetry messages. Additionally, a command for the drone's forced return to the launch site was sent via satellite.

Russian circumnavigators complete their voyage

🇷🇺🚤 Russian travelers, undertaking the round-the-world expedition "In the Footsteps of Russian Circumnavigators" (Russian Ocean Way), have passed through the Bosphorus Strait and entered the Black Sea. They are currently stopped in the Turkish city of Sinop - the last point before returning to Russia.

"The smell of borscht and dumplings, okroshka and shchi, chamomiles and dandelions is already in the air. Motherland! We haven't seen you for over three years! We are coming! Welcome," - the expedition leader Evgeny Kovalevsky's words are quoted by the press service.

🗺📆 The round-the-world journey "In the Footsteps of Russian Circumnavigators" began on July 1, 2021, from Kronstadt. It follows the same routes once taken by Ivan Krusenstern (1770-1846), Fyodor Litke (1797-1882), and Fabian Bellingshausen (1778-1852). The expedition is planned to conclude by autumn 2024.

☄️🌊 During the journey, expedition members faced several challenges. On February 28, 2023, travelers began crossing the Pacific where they experienced a shipwreck and lost their trimaran.

🦈⛵️ To continue the expedition, they utilized a similar vessel - an inflatable sailing catamaran. However, in early September 2023, near Australia, the catamaran was attacked by sharks. The crew was rescued, but the circumnavigators were left without a vessel and equipment. In Australia, one of the sponsors provided the sailors with a solid-hulled sailing ship, on which they continue their journey.
