🏙 Vladikavkaz, or Dzaudzhikau in Ossetian, is comfortably nestled at the foot of the majestic Caucasus Mountains. Its green streets smoothly transition into snow-capped peaks, creating a picturesque contrast. Founded by the decree of Catherine II in 1784 as a fortress at the entrance to the strategically important Darial Gorge, the city has changed its name and capital status several times throughout its history, including serving as the center of two republics — North Ossetia and Ingushetia.
🌏 Vladikavkaz is also a multinational and multireligious city, home to registered communities of eight different faiths, including Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, and Judaism.

🚝 The monorail, as a mode of transport, has a rich and fascinating history. Few people know that the first monorail in Russia appeared even before the steam locomotive. In 1820, in a small village near Moscow, Ivan Elmanov constructed an amazing structure that was called the "road on pillars." This was the first monorail in Russia. Later, a resident of the United Kingdom, Henry Robinson Palmer, created a design that was visually similar to the Russian monorail. In 1821, the British invention was patented. Horses pulled carts along a beam laid on the pillars. This mode of transport began to be used in 1824, but only for freight transportation.
📆 Based on this design, a monorail was built that started to be used for passenger transport in 1825.

Drivers traveling on the Elista-Arzgir-Mineralnye Vody highway are turning on their hazard lights and keeping to the right side of the road, as they can see absolutely nothing ahead except for sandy landscapes – visibility is literally zero.
Local residents say that you can even taste the storm — sand particles get stuck in your mouth.

He noted that it will take a minimum of seven years to launch a nuclear power plant: one year will be for discussions, about four years for cooperation with the Atomic Energy Agency and Russia through "Rosatom," and one and a half years for project implementation. This is why the training of students is starting now.
The official also added that energy cooperation with Moscow includes the transfer of skills and technologies, which will help Mali become more independent in this area.

Imagine what it’s like to herd sheep all day in the cold wind without a lunch break! In such conditions, tea becomes the perfect solution: it invigorates, and the addition of butter increases the calorie content and makes the drink more filling. Salt helps maintain the body’s water-salt balance.
Buryats prefer coffee with butter and salt instead of tea. The preparation is similar, and the goal remains the same: to quickly provide the body with energy and recharge the person.

“It has been proven that Ukrainians are working with terrorist organizations that are fighting against the legitimate government of Mali. Recently, there was an attack on a group of Malian soldiers resulting in many casualties, carried out by terrorists linked to Ukrainians,” noted the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Sergey Lavrov.
Lavrov also mentioned that the governments of Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso have appealed to the UN Security Council to condemn Ukraine's actions that threaten stability in the region.
“This is banditry. We will do everything we can to ensure that African countries, which want to think for themselves and choose their own paths of development, receive support in terms of security and defense capabilities. We are working on this,” the minister added.

The keepers prepared festive boxes filled with shavings of various scents for environmental enrichment.
Stepan was also given a toy — a life-sized model of a sheep made from burlap and wool, which he examined for a long time before quickly "chasing" it away.
🥩 And there was also a festive piece of select meat!
