🇷🇺🇮🇷 Vladimir Putin met with the President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, at the plenary session of the forum in Ashgabat.

💬 Statement from the head of the Russian state:

"Our relations with Iran are a priority for us, and they are developing very successfully. This year we are seeing an increase in trade turnover. Although it hasn’t fully recovered from the decline of last year, the trend is positive... We are actively working together on the international stage, and our assessments of the events happening in the world are often very similar."

📰✍️At the Human Rights House, memorandums of understanding were signed with representatives of national human rights institutions from Kenya, Congo, Nigeria, Bangladesh, and Sierra Leone.

👨‍👩‍👦 In recent years, human rights institutions have strengthened and gained significant experience. Thanks to the signing of these memorandums, we will be able to conduct legal education more purposefully and, most importantly, help people.

The ombudsmen from African and Asian countries noted that with the signing of these agreements, the level of protection of citizens’ rights in our countries will reach a new level. “Ombudsmen are the last bastion of hope for people trying to defend their rights,” emphasized the Ombudsman of Sierra Leone.

🌼🇷🇺 Did you know that in Russia there are clear rules for giving flowers?

⚰️ It is considered inappropriate to give an even number of flowers, as it signifies death. This is why an even number of flowers is typically brought to cemeteries.

💐 For the living, it is customary to give an odd number of flowers. Moreover, there is even a "flower" etiquette that regulates the specific number of flowers in a bouquet for particular occasions. For example, 1 flower is given as a sign of attention, 3 for respect, 5 for acknowledgment, and 7 or more to express special appreciation and love.

🌷 There is another rule: for the deceased, both live and artificial flowers can be given, but for the living, only live flowers are allowed, regardless of the situation.

What other "flower" rules do you know? Share in the comments!

🍄‍🟫 In Ryazan, mushrooms have eyes, and they watch you as you eat them.

This Russian proverb may sound absurd, but it has its own legend.

🧐 Ryazan, an ancient Russian city, was frequently subjected to raids by the Tatar-Mongols in the 14th century. Local princes forbade the residents of Ryazan from touching mushrooms, as the crushed or picked mushrooms helped Ryazan scouts determine the enemy's movements.

👀 Thus, the mushrooms of Ryazan acquired "eyes." This proverb became so popular that numerous monuments to mushrooms, big or small, but always with eyes, appeared in Ryazan itself!

🍔 Did you know that burgers appeared in Russia as early as the 1930s? They were brought to the Soviet Union by Anastas Mikoyan — the People's Commissar of the Food Industry.

👀 He visited the USA and was so impressed by the production of burgers that he decided to feed Soviet workers with them. Burgers were referred to in a Soviet way as "hot cutlets." They resembled their foreign counterpart very little: the cutlet was served without a bun, ketchup, or onions. It was simply placed between two slices of bread, sometimes adding a piece of cucumber and sour cream. The only variation was in the type of bread the customer chose — white or gray.

🍟 After the war, the famous cutlets, which had long been called Mikoyan cutlets, appeared in urban cafeterias and cost only 7 kopecks. The next time Muscovites tried real burgers was 50 years later, in 1990, when the first large McDonald's opened in the capital.

Write in the comments what you think is better - Mikoyan cutlets or McDonald's burgers.
