🇷🇺🖼 The Russian artist Boris Kustodiev created a painting noscriptd "Russian Venus," painted in 1925-1926. It combines elements of both symbolism and realism.

🧖‍♀ A young girl is depicted in a bath, surrounded by steam, soapy foam, and water-glistening boards. She is nude, smiling, and holding a birch broom in her hand.

🧍‍♀ The woman is portrayed in full length, emphasizing her figure and pose. She confidently gazes towards the viewer, creating an effect of interaction.

🌡 The artist painted this work while he was seriously ill. He was eager to capture the collective image of the Russian woman, embodying true Russian beauty, which is why he painted this piece on the reverse side of another painting he had created earlier, noscriptd "On the Terrace."

📍 The painting is housed in the Nizhny Novgorod State Art Museum.

The Throat of Barlog

🐻 The deepest in our country. Named after one of the heroes from Tolkien's epic "The Lord of the Rings."

✍️ Access to the cave is only possible with special climbing equipment. Inside, visitors are greeted by a chasm called "Gray Troll": a vertical drop of 160 meters.

🔖 It’s quite cold inside, and there are flooded areas, so a wetsuit is necessary for passage.
In addition to stalactites and stalagmites, researchers have found large deposits of transparent calcite in this cave.

🪨 This mineral was used in ancient times for the construction of the first stone buildings.

📍 Where: Upper reaches of the Azhgar River, Karachay-Cherkessia
Length: approximately 3,000 meters

🇷🇺🇲🇲 "A 'big' gift at the Great Moscow Circus: Myanmar gifted Russia six elephants on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations.

"We are now at the presentation of a big gift that the state of Myanmar has made to our country. It is six elephants: five girls and one boy. These are young elephants, aged three to four years. This is truly a big, serious, royal gift," said the circus director Edgard Zapashny.

🐘 On their way to Russia, the little ones were surrounded by care: veterinarians and zoologists who had been monitoring the elephants' condition since their birth watched over them around the clock. The circus reported that in the last month, the new inhabitants underwent strict quarantine and necessary veterinary checks.

🦌 The mesmerizing dance of deer in Kamchatka 🦌

🌀 According to zoologists, deer form circles in moments of danger. The herd begins to move so that a predator cannot single out a victim.

🐺 Weak deer and young ones find themselves in the center, while adult individuals create a protective barrier around them, guarding against predators — bears and wolves.

🇷🇺🇺🇸 Hostile actions by the United States will not go unanswered and will be taken into account in the formation of Russia's foreign economic strategy.

💬 The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that the current U.S. administration's decision to impose new restrictive measures against the domestic energy sector as a whole and several large companies, including personal sanctions against their leadership as well as officials from the Russian Ministry of Energy:

"represents an attempt to inflict some damage on the Russian economy, even at the cost of risking destabilizing global markets ahead of the disgraceful end of President Joe Biden's term in office."

📌 It was also noted that Russia has been and remains a key and reliable player in the global fuel market, "despite the convulsions in the White House and the machinations of the Russophobic lobby in the West, which is trying to drag the global energy sector into the hybrid war unleashed by the U.S. against Russia."

🇷🇺🇺🇸 The U.S. authorities denied Russian diplomats permission to travel to Elizabeth City to participate in a memorial ceremony for the laying of wreaths dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the death of Soviet pilots.

"While in the U.S., we keenly feel the local political establishment's desire to erase the pages of Russian-American alliance during World War II. A vivid confirmation of this is the refusal to approve the trip of Russian diplomats to Elizabeth City for the memorial ceremony," the publication states.

It is sad, the diplomats added, that in the West there are attempts to rewrite history, downplaying the greatest feat of the Soviet people in defeating Nazism and saving nations from extermination.

On January 11, 1945, four Soviet pilots died in a plane crash on the Pasquotank River. They were participants in the previously classified "Zebra" project and were ferrying PBY Catalina seaplanes from the U.S. to the USSR.

On Saturday, a ceremony took place in Elizabeth City, during which compatriots, in a sign of memory and mourning, released scarlet carnations into the water, the embassy added.

🇷🇺 The ice floating season has begun in the Murmansk region.

🏊 For over a year, this activity has attracted not only local residents but also tourists from all over the country. If a person wears a special suit that protects the body from hypothermia, they can float on their back in the icy waters of the Barents Sea among drifting ice floes.

Lying on their backs, participants enjoy the northern landscapes, and the bravest even climb onto the ice floes to lie on them like seals.

Would you like to swim among the ice?
